Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Finance Principal Program/Project Manager to join our IT Strategy, Planning and Operation organisation, within the Corporate IT Portfolio Management group. The Senior IT Principal Program/Project Manager will be responsible for leading large, complex, high-value strategic and departmental change initiatives, achieving the objectives of projects through the application of Project Management best practice knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques. In this highly visible role, you will have a great opportunity to make a significant and positive impact, partnering with our Finance Organisation to enable their strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated, passionate, and experienced hands-on Project Management professional, comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and ready to jump on opportunities to collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality IT projects or products from Initiation to Closure. A self-motivated, self-sufficient individual with demonstrated communication experience presenting work to senior leadership, framing discussions, facilitating collaboration and proven ability to influence others to obtain the expected outcomes.
Responsibilities
This is a new role being created and will evolve, but initial responsibilities will include:
Project Planning and Execution
Proven experience leading RFI, RFP vendor processes and all related deliverables to resolution
Lead Initiation, Planning, Execution and Close phases of projects
Ensure robust project planning, including working with sr. leadership (VP level) and cross functional teams to assess project options and scenarios, and develop mitigation plans
Plan, control, and execute project scope following Equinix IT PMO Excellence prescribed processes and guidelines (PMBOK)
Provide leadership, coordination, and cross-functional communication to ensure achievement of project goals and timelines
Communication and Stakeholder Management
Identify and engage appropriate stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive conflict resolution
Responsible for preparing and managing the project Communication Plan and leading communications with key stakeholders as well as broader group of stakeholders beyond the program team
Provide primary programmatic support not only to large stakeholder community but also support and collaborate with Business leads and other department program & project managers
Ensure Steering Committee and stakeholders remain informed of project progress and any risks that may affect project outcomes
Ensure stakeholders understand the impact of changes introduced by the project
Present to program steering committees making detailed, prioritized recommendations, facilitating discussions, and driving decision making
Risk Management
Responsible for preparing and managing the project Risk Management Plan
Managing project level risks and issues, taking corrective actions, and raising awareness at Program and Portfolio level
Developing regular risk assessments and risk mitigations plans
Timely escalation and resolution of complex issues
Resource and Budget Management
Forecast and track project budget and resource requirements
Work with the Portfolio Manager to ensure program initiatives are correctly resourced and funded
Work with the portfolio manager to resolve resource conflicts and budget mismatches
Management Reporting
Project level management reporting, including milestone tracking, forecasts, risks, issues, and overall project RAG status
Benefits Management
Ensure Project Business case exists and is maintained throughout the project
Escalate risks and issues that may affect the viability of the business case
Ensure the project remains aligned to deliver outcomes that will support benefits realization
Quality Management
Responsible for preparing and managing the project Quality Management Plan
Responsible for the process of quality assurance for the project and the consistent application of procedures and standards as defined in the quality management plan
Align project standards and artefacts with PMO Excellence guidance and templates.
Continuous Improvement and People Development
Create a project team environment that promotes high performance
Undertake analysis such as Retrospectives and Lessons Learned to generate insight
Contributes to the PMO Community of Practice
Qualifications
A minimum of 10+ years of Project/Program Management experience is required
A Bachelor or Master's STEM Degree; Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field preferred
Project Management qualifications, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified) etc preferred
Demonstrated experience leading successful large, complex, high-value strategic and departmental IT change initiatives, preferably in large, multi-national organizations.
Expertise in one or more project management Agile methodologies
Demonstrated depth of Finance knowledge and business acumen obtained from previous experience of project and programs
Demonstrated experience delivering Corporate ERP initiatives, Oracle Cloud preferred
Proactive mindset, can adapt easily to a changing environment, excellent in time management
Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills, including experience managing statistical and financial data
Strong EQ, leadership, and management skills
Practical and hands-on approach to delivering outcomes
Ability to form and maintaining solid working relationship at all levels of the organization
Great communication and cross-team collaboration skills
