Job Summary: Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company, relies on data-based insights to power the decision-making process. As the central data and analytics organization at Equinix, the Data & Analytics (DNA) team is the mastermind behind the company’s most strategic data and analytics initiatives that shape the trajectory of the entire organization.
We are looking for a Sr. Project Manager to streamline the project management, provide thought leadership, and drive the success for Equinix DNA’s key projects/programs. This role will report directly to the VP, Data & Analytics!
The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, independent thinker, with exceptional organization and communications skills. This role will allow you to combine your expertise in project management and passion for driving results, ensuring the successful and efficient delivery of regional and global programs. This position works with technical staff, business partners, and senior/executive management across organizational boundaries to obtain resources, schedule work activities, and coordinate all areas to complete project deliverables.
Responsibilities
Planning
Partner with business and technology subject matter experts to build project roadmaps, identify & assess requirements, define scope, create estimates, and produce Project Charters and other documentation needed for funding approvals.
Lead project teams consisting of multi-functional, global, and virtual groups, ensuring the appropriate expectations, principles, structures, tools and responsibilities are in place to deliver the plan
Management and Execution
Manage the program end-to-end including day-to-day tasks & interactions, using assigned systems (e.g., Confluence, Smartsheets, JIRA, etc.)
Coordinate project resources to meet objectives and timelines and oversee the project budget to ensure forecasts and actual charges are within the approved budget
Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, and find ways to accomplish project goals in the context of the dynamic business/technical environments.
Become a subject matter expert in workflows spanning a variety of disciplines to effectively advocate for operational excellence
Identify areas of opportunity and leverage data and insights to influence change at process level
Reporting and Communications
Develop, implement, and manage robust program management tools/reports that track and showcase status/progress against plans/commitments.
Keep project status updated in several project management tools and maintain a meticulous documentation (e.g., project financials, schedule, issues, risks, change control decisions)
Provide high-quality customer service and regularly communicate project status (timelines, progress, and challenges) to technology and business stakeholders.
Distill complex business and technology project information/updates and develop tailored communications for the project teams and stakeholders.
Work directly with leaders to document planned change, analyze dependencies between departments, and consolidate into a single change management plan
Ensure change communication is effective, timely, and repetitive
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business (Business. Marketing, Economics) and Engineering.
10+ years of solid experience with demonstration of success in managing enterprise-wise and large cross-functional, complex programs
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office project management tools (Planner, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint);
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in Business and Engineering (e.g., MBA, MA/MS, PhD)
Project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE 2 / Project Management Professional (PMP)/Scrum Master (CSM) and/or SAFe-certified, etc.).
Experience and exposure to project management tools like Confluence, Rally, Jira, etc. is preferred.
Experience working in teams focused on Master Data Management including developing data pipeline architecture, organizational metrics, and insights into problems and Engineering (infrastructure, tool development, and system design).

Project Management: Solid experience and in-depth understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
Executive Disposition: Ability to work independently with mature decision-making skills as demonstrated by previous successes in leading & managing technology projects that often have an enterprise-wide scope and may have significant cost and time-to-market impacts.
Stakeholder Management: Experience working with internal/external clients and stakeholders with demonstrated success in collaborating with and influencing peers, stakeholders, and leaders to work towards shared business goals.
Communications: Ability to simplify complex ideas, cross-functional issues, and technical solutions across multiple organizational levels, and tell a compelling story about the team’s value proposition and the products they “sell”, whether through verbal or written communications, or through PowerPoint presentation.
Process Orientation: Demonstrated organizational, planning, and analytical skills, including project scheduling, estimating risk identification, and change management.
