Job Summary
The Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst is responsible for working with the sales compensation team. The role requires excellent collaboration with other groups in Sales Operations to support implementation and execution of sales incentive plans in the Americas. As an integral part of our Sales Compensation Team, the Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day sales compensation operations related activities, calculation and review of compensation payments, such as commissions, bonuses, SPIFFs, and other variable incentives, to ensure accuracy and completeness of payments. Responsibilities also include Xactly/Incent compensation tool maintenance and providing detailed analysis of compensation performance on a regular basis. This is a highly analytical role, requiring excellent attention to details. The role involves review and manipulation of large data sets and requires developing knowledge of complex sales plans and compensation concepts. It requires the ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with the other sales compensation team members, FP&A and HR, in order to meet monthly payroll deadlines. You must have a can-do attitude, enjoy rolling up your sleeves and being part of a group where you can make real time impact.
Responsibilities
Sales Compensation Administration
Update/maintain Xactly/Incent sales compensation system for assigned geography/group, on a weekly recurring basis, including, but not limited to user/people/positions/hierarchy updates
Responsible for the monthly/quarterly calculations and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely payment of incentive compensation, including all commissions, bonuses, draws, MBO and SPIFF, etc. administration
Responsible for sales compensation payments exception handling and act as first level reviewer for any compensation issues. Represent the sales organization in compensation related matters. Investigates complex issues, escalates as needed and provides timely response to sales teams
Assist with data and quota uploads to our sales compensation tool
Create, review and ensure timely electronic distribution and acceptance of yearly comp plans documents, policies, and periodic individual goal sheets
Validate and reconcile monthly/quarterly sales compensation payments for accuracy and completeness
Monitor and review sales compensation issue tracker queue and works with sales teams and/or sales operations to resolve issues and address inquiries, as part of our internal exception handling process
Support the quarterly accrual calculation process, including variance analysis of actuals vs accrual
Support sales organization in any and all compensation related matters
Build and maintain business partnerships with the sales organization as well as Finance, HR, Booking operations, Sales planning, and Sales reporting teams
Provide world-class customer service to our sales organization and internal customers
Reporting/Analytics
Generate regular operational reports to drive business insights regarding program effectiveness
Perform ad hoc modeling and analyses to address complex, open ended issues/questions
Program Support / Implementation
Keep company in compliance with SOX and other statutory requirements
Partner with team members and other internal departments (HR, finance, IT, etc.) to ensure data integrity and consistency
Identify ways to streamline/automate existing and new processes
Participate in the communication and roll-out of sales incentive programs
Make recommendations to improve sales compensation and associated programs (e.g., contests, special incentives)
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience, and progressive track record in finance, accounting, sales compensation, or other highly analytical field is required
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-starter who requires minimum direction and/or supervision
Able to work independently and take initiative, as well as in a team setting
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to support and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong work ethic
Able to quickly adapt to new technologies and process changes
Experience with Xactly Incent or a similar compensation management application is required
Salesforce.com & Anaplan experience preferred
Technology industry experience and understanding of recurring revenue model and cross-regional selling is a plus
Advanced Microsoft office skills (emphasis on Excel and Power Point) is required
