Infrastructure Engineer
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the Infrastructure Engineer (Windows/Unix) will provide L2/L3 operational support to our Infra and responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, administration, patching, day-to-day operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related Data Center infrastructure. Ensure the environment is patched up to date and compliance with IT security standard. Manage SCA (Security Compliance Analytics) and publish compliance report. The IT team is responsible for the Development & Production environments which house Unix, AIX, and Windows servers. The environment consists of physical and virtual servers across multiple data centres.
Responsibilities:
Plan, install, solve problems and supports physical and virtual servers for the purpose of ensuring reliability of systems and services across a global estate.
Plan, install, solves problems and maintains email and directory systems providing appropriate user-authentication and management.
Analyse, identify and corrects technology issues, resolving operational issues and restoring services.
Document procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems, software and hardware; develops and reviews documentation.
Act as a liaison to vendors and technical-support to resolve complex problems.
Coordinates and implements corrective measures that may involve site visits, telephone assistance or remote management.
Work on Infrastructure related projects
Advise and assist in the development of policies and procedures
Monitor and maintains software licensing, documents, and records for the purpose of ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
Contribute to plans, implement and maintain backup and DR procedures to ensure rapid recovery for mission-critical systems, and services.
Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
Proactively involve P1/P2 incident calls.
Uphold for SLA compliance, incident management & Root cause analysis
Requirement
Australian citizen with NV1 Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance
Proficient in RHEL/Oracle Linux OS administration
Windows Server Infrastructure and Services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Office 365
VMWare ESXi including vCenter and VSAN
Provisioning storage to UNIX, Windows and ESXi servers.
Enterprise Intel x86 based hardware (e.g. UCS, Dell Servers)
Strong problem-solving skills across the different Infrastructure layers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent preferred
5+ years of relevant support experience.
Industry Certification(s) preferred
Knowledge of the core hardware and software components that comprise large global systems and networks with expertise in some of the following areas:
Backup technologies, (Commvault strongly desirable)
PowerShell
SAN Storage (including Fibre Channel/iSCSI)
LAN/WAN, network and systems hardware and software
Cloud Technologies and solutions including Azure, AWS and VMC
Microsoft SQL Server
DNS platform
Monitoring and system management tools
Virtual Desktop Technologies
Familiar with Nutanix Technology
Current and emerging operating systems, network environments and protocols
Data security, including Server Hardening
Project design and project tracking
