Job Summary
We’re hiring a Senior Manager – Global Total Rewards M&A & Benefit Plans to join our Global Benefits team.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who can operate comfortably at the intersection of M&A, divestitures, global employee benefits, insurance, financial analysis, and senior stakeholder advisory.
The role will be primarily focused on supporting Total Rewards activity across mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, acting as the lead for transactions from due diligence through integration or separation. Working in close partnership with Regional Rewards teams, the role brings together global Total Rewards principles, deal objectives, local market expertise and employee considerations to determine the appropriate approach for each transaction. This includes assessing risks and liabilities, identifying opportunities and synergies, shaping integration or separation approaches, and ensuring compensation and benefits considerations are effectively reflected in deal decisions.
Outside active M&A and divestiture activity, the role will provide broader global benefits oversight across areas including medical insurance, multinational pooling, benchmarking, financial analysis, budgeting support, and global benefits reporting.
Responsibilities
Lead Total Rewards due diligence, integration and divestiture/separation activities, serving as the primary point of accountability for M&A transactions
Partner closely with Regional Rewards teams to incorporate local market, regulatory and business requirements into transaction decisions and drive successful in-country execution
Lead in collaboration with the regional reward team, the development of compensation and benefits approaches for acquired or newly established populations, partnering with Regional Rewards on market benchmarking and the design of pay structures, salary ranges, benefits offerings and transition arrangements
Assess compensation and benefits risks, liabilities, costs, synergies and harmonization opportunities and determine appropriate recommendations and actions
Provide Total Rewards support for divestitures, including employee transition requirements, separation considerations, data needs and coordination of benefits continuity through close and transition
Coordinate across Global Compensation, Benefits, Regional Rewards, HR, Finance, Legal, HRIT and external advisors to ensure transaction decisions are translated into clear actions and delivered to required timelines
Support new-market compensation and benefits implementation, including plan setup, vendor implementation and employee data/system requirements
Manage global oversight of employee insurance programs, broker relationships, renewals, claims trends and multinational pooling arrangements
Lead global benefits benchmarking and assess regional benefit proposals against market data and internal guidelines
Consolidate regional benefit requests into structured cost and budget analyses for leadership review and develop clear, data-driven recommendations for senior Benefits and Finance stakeholders
Support global benefits dashboards, reporting and decision-making through strong analytical insight. Other benefit projects as defined by the Global Benefits leader
Qualifications
Strong multi-country employee benefits and broader Total Rewards experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting M&A and divestiture activity across due diligence, integration and separation
Experience designing or evaluating compensation structures and benefits programs in new or changing markets, in partnership with regional subject-matter experts
Deep understanding of medical insurance, insured benefits, broker relationships and multinational pooling
Strong benefits benchmarking, costing and financial analysis capability
Proven ability to lead through influence across global and regional teams, bringing different perspectives together while maintaining clear accountability for decisions and outcomes
Confidence working with senior stakeholders across Total Rewards, Finance, HR, Legal and transaction teams
Strong ownership, judgment and commercial acumen, with the ability to make decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving transaction environments
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar reporting tools is an advantage, and AI fluency or literacy is a plus
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 139,000 - 209,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
