Job Summary

xScale is a relatively new Business Unit within the wider Equinix organisation who specialise in delivering wholesale style data center facilities to our global Hyperscale customers. A director level role in xScale will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to drive and collaborate on work that enables the growth of the Hyperscale market throughout its digital transformation. The Director of xScale Product Strategy & Management on the xScale Strategy & Product Team will focus on executing the global xScale product strategy to maximize line-of-business revenue and minimize risk. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the product’s market effectiveness and alignment with needs of our investor-partners and the Equinix go-to-market team. This includes contributing to the product vision, roadmap and business cases as well as supporting innovation opportunities and managing the non-technical aspects of the datacenter product lifecycle. The role also deep listening to customers, Equinix go-to-market teams, and the xScale Asset Management, to identify valuable research insights to improve the customer experience and xScale financial outcomes.

This includes broad cross-functional work extending to xScale teams for Operations, Business Operations, PMO and Corporate Development teams, such analyzing and optimizing value chain activities, developing and monitoring KPIs, administering go-to-market support, implementing product and services improvements in collaboration with various stakeholder organizations. The qualifications for this role include over tean years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of data center services, analytical and communication skills, cultural awareness, adaptability to fast-paced environments, and a bachelor’s degree with MBA preferred. Responsibilities

  • Executes the product strategy to support the xScale line of business meeting the needs of our hyperscale customers and the business goals for Equinix and its

  • Represents the xScale line of business with respect to activating hyperscale datacenter vision, goals, product capabilities, capacity roadmap and business cases

  • Contributes to the development of product strategy, go-to-market efforts, and ongoing management of the product strategy lifecycle

  • Collaborates with xScale Product Management leads to improve the end-customer experience and lifecyle, with a particular focus on services within the datacenter developed in collobration with xScale Operations leveraging support from our Digital & Innovation Organization

  • Integrates insights from customers as well as Corporate Strategy and other research to improve user experience, manage and prioritize roadmap deliverables, and communicate xScale solutions

  • Manages stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions as the regional liaison on behalf of the Product & Strategy Management team

  • Manage and communicate the product roadmap, including managing backlog & priorization of product initiatives; participate in creating a shared vision and clear goals for the product

  • Deliver product training and process enablement curriculums; participates in cross-functional training and meetings

  • Partner with xScale Business Operations to run the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities; establish and monitor KPIs; administer regional promotional support; implement course corrections as needed, leveraging support from the Equinix Enterprise Data & Analytics team and Digital & Innovation Organization

  • Support commercial teams in customer negotiations and contracts representing the core xScale business and product management objectives

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in product management, marketing, development, commercial operations, or similar role

  • Understanding of product management fundamentals such as Lean development methodology

  • Strong technical acumen, preferably with applied experience across Data Center services, with a preference for focus on the hyperscale customer segments

  • Analytical problem-solving and planning skills to discover, design, and implement effective practical recommendations

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill - both verbal and written. Culturally aware and adept at working across multiple geographies

  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with peers and key cross functional areas within the business to be the voice of the region

  • Able to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment, staying abreast of a dynamic industry landscape

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

  • 25-30% travel for external or internal meetings and industry conferences

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Tampa Office TAO : 177,000 - 265,000 USD / Annual

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 177,000 - 265,000 USD / Annual

United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 213,000 - 319,000 USD / Annual

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 166,000 - 248,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
