Job Summary
The Treasury Director for Capital Markets reports to the Treasurer and provides a key leadership role overseeing the strategic direction and implementation of the global Treasury function. This includes analyzing, structuring, and executing financing initiatives; preparing analysis and recommendations to optimize Equinix’s capital structure and cost of financing; and providing support and compliance with REIT requirements. These responsibilities extend to Equinix’s core business, as well as its xScale Joint Venture initiatives. The Treasury Director will be tasked with helping to manage a global portfolio of xScale development financings, lead the execution of new financings, and represent the Treasury function in the corporate structuring of new Joint Ventures. The Treasury Director will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and energetic team culture, as well as developing junior resources and allocating them efficiently and effectively to various projects. This position is a leadership role in the Finance organization of the Company and will work regularly with the CFO and other key finance leaders. The successful candidate will lead a growing team (currently [5]) of finance professionals globally. The position is based at Equinix HQ in Redwood City, CA.
Responsibilities
Monitor financing needs and recommending strategies for raising capital
Evaluate alternative financing structures in partnership with the FX and Derivatives team to optimize capital structure and cost of borrowing
Lead/Co-lead the structuring and negotiations of Equinix’s financing activity
Lead/Co-lead the structuring and negotiations of debt financings on behalf of Equinix’s xScale Joint Venture initiatives in coordination with the JV partner
Partner with Legal, Tax, Accounting, and external advisors to analyze and execute capital markets transactions while ensuring compliance with financial covenants and REIT requirements
Identify options and execute financing for M&A transactions
Manage relationships with banking partners and utilize them to provide timely analysis and recommendations in support of Equinix’s evaluation of financing strategy
Work with banking partners and our international Treasury teams to evaluate and recommend local financing initiatives where local financing and funding is warranted
Maintain dialogue with and reporting to rating agencies to champion the Equinix credit story
Oversee the long term model in partnership with FP&A, Tax and Corporate Development to assess financing needs and conduct detailed scenario analysis for financing alternatives
Reporting and advising on key financial metrics to senior management
Occasional international travel may be required in support of execution of financing transactions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
Experience with real estate or project finance highly desirable
8+ years of progressive experience in a Finance, Accounting or Treasury function
MBA, CFA or CPA preferred
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to bring innovative and novel approaches to bear in analyzing and solving problems
Experience with and understanding of international tax and treasury concepts and challenges
Experience with executing financing transactions across a variety of debt and equity solutions and/or currencies
Ability to liaise with internal partners in Tax, Legal, Corporate Development, Real Estate, FP&A, Controllership and international business units
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $155,000 to $276,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
