Job Summary

The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted parter to the Chief Communications Officer to support the company’s top business priorities. This leader will sit on the global communications leadership team and be responsible for integrated strategic planning and execution, globally consistent messaging, cross-functional collaboration, operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

The leader will also partner closely with the CCO and leadership team to foster a winning culture across the communications function while cultivating new capabilities in key areas such as measurement and AI. This role requires an individual who collaborates well and drives results through others, has strong executive presence and is adaptable to change, can simplify complexity, and builds trusted relationships with a diverse mix of internal and external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities 

Strategic Support and Program Management    

  • Own the coordination, planning, and management of a comprehensive communications plan and roadmap for the function in support of the company’s business priorities

  • Align the function around a consistent global narrative to ensure one voice

  • Collaborate closely with Global Comms team to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, strategy development and overall improved effectiveness / efficiency.   

  • Act as a delegate for the SVP on occasion to lead meetings, etc.  

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional corporate projects and initiatives, coordinating efforts among different teams and ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget

  • Design, organize, and facilitate forums to ensure effective dialogue and decision making – both within the communications function and with cross-functional stakeholders 

  • Ability to produce a range of content as needed, including presentations, messaging, talking points, etc. 

  • Look around corners to identify risks, misalignments, or signals that need escalation or course correction

Budget and Resource Management   

  • Collaborate with Finance and Procurement to develop and manage budgets, ensure appropriate resource allocation, and maximize overall efficiency and ROI

Functional Capabilities 

  • Assess and evolve communications team’s approach to measurement 

  • Identify and implement new AI tools and applications to enhance and accelerate workflows, content creation and cross-team collaboration 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of proven experience preferred

  • Communications experience required

  • Collaborative mindset to build strong cross-functional relationships to influence and align with others

  • Effective leadership skills to influence, motivate, and mentor

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to analyze data and use insights to formulate effective tactics 

  • Values driven, operating with a high level of integrity and discretion including matters of people, legal proceedings, acquisitions, and financial forecasts

  • Intuition to anticipate problems, drive balanced perspectives, motivate, and empower others to help ensure successful outcomes

  • Proactive and innovative mindset, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

  • Openness to new ideas and perspectives, with the ability to be creative and comfortable taking risks

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 186,000 - 280,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
