Job Summary
The ‘Valuation M&A and Strategic Ventures, Senior Analyst’ will play a pivotal role in supporting Equinix’s growth strategy. You will act as a financial valuation engine within the M&A Finance team, developing and operating valuation models, engaging in financial due diligence, and providing analytical rigor required for growth path decisions. The role offers high visibility, bridging the gap between technical financial modeling and high-level strategic execution.
Responsibilities
Financial Modeling & Valuation
Modeling and Valuation of Growth Opportunities: Develop, maintain, and audit operating and valuation models (e.g., DCF, EPS, ROIC) for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic ventures
Thesis Development: Support development and conversion of strategic assumptions into financial inputs and outputs. Work with business leaders to build cash models that form the "Why" behind a potential transaction
Scenario Analysis: Provide and support analysis of various structural alternatives (e.g., build vs. buy, partnership vs. acquisition) and financing scenarios to guide investment decisions
Financial Due Diligence & Deal Execution
Diligence Coordination: Support the financial due diligence (FDD) process, including performing Quality of Earnings, Net Debt, and Net Working Capital analyses as well as managing external service providers
Risk Quantification: Assess and gather critical diligence findings and ensure they are incorporated accurately in the financial model
Transaction Documents Review: Review and assess business risks within SPAs/APAs and disclosure schedules with specific emphasis on financial definitions, representations & warranties, indemnities, and the closing mechanisms
Market Intelligence & Target Origination
Sector Analysis: Analyze deal activity, trading multiples, and macro trends within the digital infrastructure and associated sectors
Database Management: Maintain a robust database of transaction and trading comparables to benchmark valuations
Pipeline Management: Maintain the global M&A pipeline database, coordinating across teams, and informing on resource allocation across active growth pursuits
Strategic Support & Process Improvement
Executive Communication: Assist in the creation of materials for Executives, including Investment Committee and Board presentations, with ability to articulate strategic rationales and financial impacts of pursuits assessed
Best Practices: Contribute to the evolvement of the M&A & Strategic Ventures Playbook, by standardizing tools, diligence lists, valuation frameworks, methodologies, etc.
Actuals vs. Plans (Lookbacks): Support post-close reviews to analyze whether strategic and investment objectives were met, driving continuous improvement in the Team
Qualifications
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex financial modeling and macros (preferred)
Additional Skills (Preferred): Python programming for data analysis and automation, familiarity with AI agent implementation and automation concepts, strong learning agility and eagerness to adopt emerging technologies
Accounting Knowledge: Strong grasp of US GAAP, with the ability to navigate complex financial statements and understand the impact of NWC and Debt-like items on valuation
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple live deal workstreams simultaneously, and strong written communication skills for executive presentations
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Investment Banking, Transaction Advisory (Big 4), Private Equity, or Corporate Development teams
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related quantitative field
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 90,000 - 136,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
