Job Summary
Supports strategic pre-sales engagements, drives thought leadership in a cross functional manner and supports the global sales strategy of Equinix to drive revenue in an assigned territory. The role is responsible for providing technology and solution-based thought leadership, bridging the network, Datacenter and Cloud/IT infrastructure into repeatable offers. Key focus areas include, but are not limited to, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, repeatable solutions, and use cases, focused on the five sales verticals within the Equinix Ecosystem (Network, Financial, Cloud, Content/Digital Media, and Enterprise).
Responsibilities
Strategic Pre-Sales Support & Solution Development
Provides advanced technology solutioning support to Equinix global field and channel sales
Acts as a trusted technical advisor in pre-sales engagement, translating customer requirements into scalable interconnection and cloud solutions
Develops the account technology strategy with Sales team
Prepares and conducts Customer workshops, and delivers customer presentations
Design and propose hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity architectures leveraging Equinix platform and ecosystem
Demonstrates Equinix values through the provision of credible and convincing reasoning through compelling solutions to have a customer choose Equinix
Research and Development
Keeps up to date with the state of the art by utilizing the Equinix's Solution Development Framework
Research relevant technology trends and analyses technology impacts
Recommend stakeholders based upon research finds and implements new technologies, standards, processes, tools and techniques
Subject Matter Expertise
Maintains Industry awareness through training, reading, research, collaboration and industry event attendance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Close collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders in the Finance, Sales, Legal, IT and Operations teams on technology and service initiatives, new product introductions, technology roadmap, and commercial concerns
Technology and Innovation Insights
Provides technical subject matter expertise to Sales, Marketing and the Industry through participation in creating, developing and delivering content for proposals, marketing studies and marketing events
Supports the briefing of Sales teams on the impact of new technology
Supports the briefing of Sales teams on the features, restrictions and selling points of new Equinix products and offers
Qualifications
10+ Years in the functional domains of Network, Datacenter or Cloud Infrastructure domains, including strategic pre-sales and technical support preferred
7+ Years of solutions selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering discipline preferred
Advanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS) preferred
Strong background in enterprise networking preferred
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including Layer/Layer 3 concepts and experience with Ethernet WAN services
Familiar with Enterprise Cloud Connectivity models, including public internet and private connectivity
Experience in cloud platforms and their connectivity solutions
Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud architecture and experience designing hybrid or multi-cloud connectivity solutions preferred
Experience designing or supporting interconnection solutions within datacenter environments is highly preferred
Ability to articulate the business value of connectivity solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Basic awareness of modern workloads such as AI/ML is a plus
