Job Summary

The Tax Senior Manager is responsible for assisting European tax planning and implementation, addressing tax technical issues and carrying out special projects.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Assists in tax planning for business transactions, M&A and real estate transactions, including integration

  • Identifies and solves tax issues related to on-going routine business activities to improve tax efficiency of the Company

  • Leads technical tax research and manages external tax advisors in EMEA

Risk Management

  • Monitors and helps mitigates overall tax risks of the Region, including direct tax and indirect taxes


Tax Returns

  • Provides technical tax research and support for filing of tax returns of the Region

  • Provides technical tax research and support for tax examinations within the Region

Tax technical matters in EMEA

  • Provides technical tax research and support for the Company’s transfer pricing, commissionaire structure and REIT matters in EMEA

  • Works with outside consultants pertaining to complex and significant tax issues


Tax Accounting, local stat books

  • Provides technical tax research and support for tax provision process for local financial statement reporting purposes


Business Development

  • Develops and maintains relationships with business partners in EMEA


Continued Education

  • Continues to develop and apply technical expertise's and stay current on tax issues

REIT compliance

  • Applies REIT tax rules to common transactions to ensure REIT related risks are covered


Qualifications

  • Proven years plus working experience with BIG 4 and/or corporate tax department

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • CPA/Chartered Accountant/Equivalent certification preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
