Job Summary

The Senior Account Executive will serve as a key member of the global sales organization, focusing on strategic account management and growth of global customers in the EMEA region. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue by identifying new opportunities, landing and expanding accounts, and ensuring seamless collaboration across global teams. Your role will involve solution selling that aligns with Equinix’s digital infrastructure strategy while cultivating long-term partnerships with some of the world's most influential enterprises.

Responsibilities

Account Strategy and Execution

  • Own a portfolio of assigned global accounts with a focus on the EMEA region

  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans to drive customer success, increase wallet share, and achieve regional revenue goals

  • Build and nurture C-level relationships within client organizations to secure strategic partnerships

Sales Growth

  • Land and expand customer presence by identifying new opportunities within accounts

  • Lead complex sales cycles to close high-value deals by leveraging Equinix’s unique solutions

  • Drive adoption of Equinix’s portfolio, including colocation, interconnection, and digital services (e.g., Network Edge, Equinix Fabric)

Cross-Regional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with regional and global account teams to ensure alignment on account strategy and shared goals

  • Work closely with Sales Engineers, Global Solutions Architects (GSAs), and extended teams to develop tailored solutions for client needs

Pipeline Management and Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting through Salesforce and other tools

  • Ensure timely updates of key opportunities and alignment with the Equinix Sales Process (ESP)

Customer Success and Retention

  • Partner with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention

  • Resolve escalations efficiently to maintain trust and a positive customer experience

Market Awareness

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and digital transformation initiatives to position Equinix solutions effectively

Qualifications

  • Proven years of experience in enterprise sales, account management, or a related role, ideally within the data center, IT infrastructure, or cloud industries

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets

  • Demonstrated success in selling to and growing large global accounts, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures

  • Exceptional consultative selling and solution development skills, with a focus on creating value for the customer

  • Strong understanding of digital infrastructure, interconnection, and data center services

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across geographies and teams

  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM tools for pipeline and forecast management

  • Team-oriented and highly adaptable to collaborate across regional and global teams

  • Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively
