Job Summary

The DIO Senior Director, Digital University will serve as a strategic leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling the Digital & Innovation Organization’s (DIO) talent capabilities through both a comprehensive learning strategy and its enabling technology platforms. Central to this role is ownership of the DIO Digital University — a flagship enterprise platform — and accountability for managing its full development lifecycle, from product requirements and technical architecture through deployment and continuous enhancement.

This leader will function as a product owner and thought partner — directing engineering and design resources, managing development sprints and platform roadmaps, and partnering with the DIO People Team (HR) and external vendors to embed AI and emerging technologies into learning experiences. Beyond the platform build, this role will champion talent development strategy, establish organizational learning KPIs, and drive the cross-functional collaboration needed to build a future-ready workforce — positioning the organization as a learning leader at the forefront of industry standards.

Responsibilities

Strategy | Design | Build

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of the digital university platform — managing the full build lifecycle including technical requirements, platform architecture, development sprints, and feature delivery — to create a scalable, enterprise-grade learning system that serves as the centralized hub for organizational talent development.

  • Serve as product owner for the digital university, directing engineers and designers, prioritizing the development backlog, and making platform decisions that shape the system’s long-term capabilities, performance, and learner experience.

  • Define and execute the platform technology strategy and configure options for AI, data analytics, and digital learning tools — ensuring every technology investment directly enhances platform capability and delivers measurable organizational value.

  • Develop a clear vision for the organization’s talent experience that aligns with overall business objectives and the enterprise learning strategy, establishing a future-focused approach to skills development, knowledge management, and embedded learning within everyday workflows.

  • Foster a culture that values continuous learning, agility, and adaptability, ensuring talent capabilities evolve with industry and organizational changes and that the digital university remains embedded in everyday working practices.

Business Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Drive and influence executive decision-making on platform priorities, technology direction, and development roadmap, ensuring senior leadership alignment on the digital university build and the broader talent strategy.

  • Partner with the People Team (HR) and technology vendors to define technical requirements, integration specifications, and platform configurations for the LMS, knowledge repositories, and AI tools that form the core components of the digital university.

  • Manage external vendor and partner relationships in direct support of the platform build, ensuring third-party resources are delivering against defined development milestones and quality standards.

  • Work closely with business leaders, People Team (HR) partners, and functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on learning priorities, drive adoption of platform capabilities, and enable effective change management as new solutions are released.

Lead Execution Excellence

  • Oversee platform delivery execution — maintaining requirements documentation, sprint planning cadences, and technical milestone tracking — ensuring the development team operates with clarity, accountability, and a consistent delivery rhythm throughout the build.

  • Establish structured resource and time-tracking processes that clearly allocate team effort across platform development activities and ongoing operational and content work, enabling accurate reporting, resource optimization, and informed investment decisions.

  • Drive rigorous measurement and analytics by defining KPIs and success metrics to evaluate the impact of learning programs and platform performance. Leverage data-driven insights to continuously optimize strategies, ensuring a measurable and enhanced talent experience.

  • Maintain a forward-looking platform roadmap by continuously evaluating emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and digital learning innovations — ensuring the digital university evolves as an extensible, high-impact system that stays ahead of organizational and industry needs.

Qualifications

  • BA required, master’s preferred in HR, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, or a related field

  • 12–15 years of progressive L&D experience with a deep understanding of Adult Learning Theory, instructional design, and enterprise talent strategy — and a proven ability to translate that expertise into scalable platform experiences

  • Demonstrated experience leading the design and deployment of learning technologies, including LMS platforms, knowledge repositories, and AI-enabled tools, with the ability to manage vendor relationships and oversee platform build lifecycles

  • Comfortable operating as a product owner — familiar with requirements definition, roadmap management, and agile delivery — with the ability to direct technical teams toward clear learning platform outcomes

  • Proven ability to drive organizational development, change management, and leadership development initiatives across a global workforce, with strong executive presence and stakeholder influence

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, interpreting data, and aligning talent and technology investments with broader business strategy
