A career at Equinix means being at the center of shaping what comes next and amplifying customer value through innovation and impact. You’ll work across teams, influence key decisions, and help shape the path forward. You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you—because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.

Job Summary

Equinix's Digital Interconnection Product Management organization owns the Fabric portfolio, the connectivity layer that enterprises use to build multi-cloud, hybrid, and AI-ready infrastructure across Equinix's global platform. The portfolio spans Equinix Fabric, Fabric Cloud Router, the newly launched Fabric Intelligence AI-native operational layer, and Fabric Interconnect, alongside Internet Exchange, Precision Time, and Internet Access. The organization is scaling quickly: new product leaders are onboarding, the team is growing, and the portfolio is expanding into AI-driven networking and outcome-based commercial models.

We're hiring a Principal PM for Product Scaling & Strategy to support and scale the Digital Interconnection Product leadership team. You'll drive cross-cutting initiatives, own the team's business metrics cadence, build executive- and customer-facing narratives, and help scale the PM organization as it grows through a period of significant change. This individual contributor role reports directly to the VP of Digital Interconnection Services.

This role suits a seasoned technical leader who wants outsized organizational impact without owning a single product line or a direct engineering headcount. You'll see across the entire portfolio, sit in the room for the highest-leverage decisions, and be the person who turns strategy into execution.

Responsibilities

Build the narrative

  • Own construction of customer-facing and analyst-facing presentations, not just formatting support

  • Draft and edit executive communications: stakeholder updates, launch narratives, escalation summaries

  • Help maintain a consistent product story across Fabric, Fabric Cloud Router, Fabric Intelligence, and Fabric Multicloud Interconnect

Drive strategic initiatives

  • Own cross-portfolio initiatives on behalf of product leadership, from AI-native networking positioning to new product launch readiness

  • Translate leadership priorities into executable plans with clear owners, milestones, and follow-through

  • Prep and often co-drive strategic reviews, board materials, and exec staff updates

Own the operating cadence

  • Run the weekly and monthly business metrics rhythm across the portfolio: what's tracked, who owns it, how it rolls up to leadership

  • Build the dashboards and reporting infrastructure that make metrics reviews fast, accurate, and actionable

  • Surface risks and anomalies early, before they become escalations, drawing on real incident and crisis management instincts

Scale the team

  • Support onboarding of new product leaders and product managers joining a fast-growing org

  • Help refine the PM operating model, ways of working, and tooling as the team scales

  • Provide informal coaching support to PMs, particularly newer team members, in partnership with leadership, drawing on a track record of developing the next generation of leaders

  • Apply and help calibrate the organization's PM career ladder and performance framework

Triage and unblock

  • Act as a first filter for incoming escalations and fires: assess, route, or resolve directly

  • Own follow-through on action items from firefights so they don't resurface

  • Free up leadership bandwidth by absorbing operational load across sales, marketing, and customer-facing asks

Qualifications

  • Senior technical leadership experience: 15+ years in engineering, product or technical leadership roles, including experience scaling and leading a large, global organizations (100+ people). You've operated at Sr Manager/Director level or above and are comfortable being a peer-level thought partner to VP-level executives

  • Cloud and platform fluency: Direct experience building or operating cloud or infrastructure platforms and services. You understand modern cloud operating models, API-first architectures, and the operational realities of running always-on services at scale

  • Culture and talent development: A demonstrated commitment to building psychologically safe, high-trust teams and developing the next generation of leaders through active mentorship

  • Executive communication: Can write and structure at a board/CEO-ready level, not just PM-ready. Deck ownership, not deck decoration

  • Cross-functional alignment: Track record of partnering closely with engineering, UX, and go-to-market teams to align roadmaps and drive strategy, even without formal authority over those functions

  • Analytical rigor: Comfortable owning a metrics cadence, building your own dashboards, and drawing conclusions from data rather than just reporting it

  • Judgment and discretion: This role sees everything, including sensitive performance and organizational matters. High trust is non-negotiable

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure business models

  • Experience launching next-generation product capabilities from concept to public launch on an accelerated timeline

  • MBA or equivalent business training paired with a computer science or engineering foundation

Why This Role

You'll operate at the center of one of Equinix's highest-visibility product areas during a period of active reinvention, from AI-native networking to outcome-based commercial packaging. For a technical leader who has scaled large organizations and wants to shift from owning engineering to shaping strategy, communications, and operating rhythm at the executive level, this role offers direct exposure to VP-level decision-making, broad portfolio visibility most individual roles don't offer, and a clear path to grow into product or general management leadership.
