Job Description 

Job Summary 

This role supports the construction and operation of data center facilities. 

You will assist with: 

• Planning and designing systems 

• Supporting system installation and implementation 

• Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and facilities 

You will work closely with many teams such as design engineering, construction management, site engineering, regional operations, and vendors. 
This position also supports daily operational planning and long-term improvement activities for either construction projects or operating data centers (IBX facilities). 

• You are not expected to be an expert from day one. Skills and knowledge are developed through on-the-job training.

• 設備やシステムの計画づくり 

• 設計や導入のサポート 

• 日々の運用、保守、施設のサポート 

設計担当、建設担当、運用チーム、ベンダーなど、多くの関係者と連携しながら仕事を進めることが特徴です。 

建設プロジェクトや、稼働中データセンターの安定運営を支えるための日々の業務計画や改善にも関わります。 

• 最初から「専門家」である必要はなく、OJTを通じて段階的に身につけていきます。 

Responsibilities 

Project Management 

• Support from T2 and T3 engineers assisting with projects or other design and engineering tasks 

• プロジェクトまたはその他の設計およびエンジニアリング業務を支援するT2、T3エンジニアのサポート 

System Operation and Work Practices (including Capacity Planning) 

• Learn and apply expert-level safety work procedures. This includes safely installing, inspecting, and troubleshooting HVAC equipment and electrical. 

• 専門家レベルの安全作業手順を学び活用する。内容として空調・電気などの設備を安全に設置、点検、トラブルシューティング。 

Training 

• Learn and apply by shadowing experienced team members during actual work 

• 先輩社員の作業を横で見ながら、実務スキルを学び活用する（シャドウイング） 

Contract Support 

• Provide support as required for all engagements undertaken by IBX. 

• IBXが行う全ての契約で必要に応じてサポートを行う。 

Leadership and Communications (including Vendor Mgmt.) 

• Support the coordination and direction of external vendors such as: 

・General contractors 

・Design teams 

・Commissioning agents 

・Equipment suppliers 

• Communicate and share information with internal Equinix teams across departments 

※ This role focuses on coordination and communication rather than people management. 

• ゼネコン、設計会社、機器メーカーなどの外部業者と連携 

• プロジェクトごとに、必要な指示や情報共有を行う 

• Equinix社内の他部署とも積極的にコミュニケーションを取り、情報をつなぐ 

• マネジメントというより、調整役・橋渡し役に近い役割です 

Technical Expertise and Problem Solving 

• Learn and apply practical knowledge of mechanical and air conditioning systems in the workplace  

• Use basic project management methods in daily work 

• Learn and use asset management applications 

• 空調などの機械設備知識を実務で学び活用する  

• プロジェクト管理の基本的な考え方を身につける 

• アセット管理アプリケーションの運用を学び活用する 

Qualifications 

• 3 or more years of work experience and an interest in electrical equipment 

• 3年以上の社会人経験且つ空調/機械設備に興味がある方 

• Japanese: Fluent level 

• English: Comfortable with communication (reading comprehension and email writing) 

• 日本語：流暢なレベル 

• 英語：コミュニケーション（読解・メール作成）に抵抗がないレベル
