Job Summary

The Expense Advisor supports the Data Center Operations function and is responsible for transactional & administrative type finance tasks at the data center level, completing routine expense analysis tasks for the data center.  A key part of the role is the management of the procure to pay process, including dealing with Account Payables queries and vendor issues. In addition, the Expense Advisor will play an important part in gathering and consolidating forecast and budget information for the Data Center Operations teams.  Will develop knowledge on expense analysis through coaching and instruction.

Discretion & Impact: Work is reviewed periodically based on a set of defined procedures or precedence. Normally receives general instruction on work & new assignments.

Collaboration and Interaction: Develops stable working relationships internally. Exchange's standard/basic information with colleagues & immediate supervisor, project leaders & other professionals in the team/group.

Responsibilities

Procure to Pay Process

  • Creates purchase orders for data centers and special projects

  • Monitors purchase order quality and provides KPI reporting in order to improve process

  • Works with requestors to make sure POs receipted correctly and timely

  • Updates commitment values vs. POs &, working with Operations Finance/General Ledger, assesses what commitments have not been made vs. budget

  • Ensures compliance of Purchase Requests (5 W’s), all required contracts/legal approvals, accounting codes and competitive bids

  • Contacts vendor for invoices where necessary

  • Solves billing/invoice problems related to the data center/project

Budget Management

  • Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from Data Center Operations teams, undertakes ad hoc analysis to help drive forecast adjustments

Reporting

  • Responsible for running and providing commitment tracking reporting to data center teams, supporting Data Center Operations finance on month end reporting, variance commentary, and supporting the accrual process

  • Generate KPI reporting around Operations tasks completion and accuracy (such as receipting)

Business Relationships

  • Key touch point for Operations team on finance related queries

  • Supports vendors as key point of contact for query resolution management working closely with Accounts Payable team

  • Works to support Operations finance on budget, forecast and month end deliverables

  • Acts as the link between the business and finance to meet commitments

Financial Problem Solving

  • Solves routine problems

  • Actual versus forecast variance analysis

  • Assists in month end accrual process

  • Provides analysis and performs simple ad hoc duties as required

  • Provides recommendations for process improvement/efficiency gains

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years finance-related experience

  • Operations finance experience a plus

  • Positive attitude, takes initiative

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 61,200 - 91,800 USD / Annual

Canada : 58,000 - 86,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
