This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading the teams that own, operate and develop our customer facing API and Identity systems, Billing and Software Networking. You will be expected to maintain and continue to iterate on an effective team structure and evolve it as needed. Growth and hiring will be a requisite part of this work.
Lead with customer focus and develop strategy/roadmap with Product peers to meet the customers where they are. Demonstrated ability to understand business/customer needs and translate them to technical requirements/roadmap items
Help drive design and improve our system architecture, making sure components are built in a way for rapid development, deployment and continuous improvement to iterate faster.
Actively develop and grow the bench strengths at technology and leadership levels through mentoring, coaching, training, and talent retention
Maintain a strong development culture focused on data-driven and value delivery, while doing it right through core behaviors, psychological safety and intrinsic motivators.
Cultivate an empowering and collaborative culture with other partners and within broader Equinix teams
What we’ll expect of you:
12+ years of experience in technology with progressive increasing responsibility.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
A good concept of scale and a desire to help create and run highly reliable and performant distributed services
A demonstrated track record for building and leading distributed software development teams
Experience implementing and evolving lifecycle best practices and leading software teams with a strong execution culture.
A background of working for SaaS or cloud-based companies focused on agile/lean/continuous development and delivery.
Hands-on development and architecture experience (within the last 4 years preferred)
Deep understanding of data centers, server and network infrastructure and how those components interrelate and are managed at scale is a bonus.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and executing with a sense of urgency, delivering services to meet customer demands on a timely basis
Ability to recruit for top technical and operational leaders for the team
Excellent communication skills internally and externally
