Senior Program Manager/Scrum Lead - Data Analytics

Job Summary: Manages relationships with functional stakeholders. Monitors and manages key performance metrics. Fosters a culture of innovation, excellence & collaboration.

Responsibilities

Technology Project Planning and Execution (Single Project with a start date and end date. Plan, Execute, Close)

  • Scopes and plans for very large technology projects

  • Identifies resources and form project team, and obtains resource commitment from line managers

  • Selects and applies project methodology to projects, educates team members, and enforces processes

  • Presents project effort estimation and acquire project budget

  • Conducts project review meetings with directors and VPs


Technology Program Management (On-going program with multiple projects and teams Identify, Change, Empower, Monitor)

  • Introduces large program process changes to directors and VPs

  • Implements large program process changes across departments

  • Defines program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Introduces teamwork concepts and foster a healthy teamwork environment

  • Plans for long-term program resources

  • Facilitates program retrospective meetings

  • Defines and documents roles and responsibilities

  • Drive estimations and set right expectations with the stakeholders

  • Motivate team members to work as a team towards a team goal

  • Ability to rationalize unplanned backlog keeping alignment with the end goal

  • JIRA skills -  JIRA configurations for scale, and flexible project reporting

  • Well versed with business processes in 1-2 domains like Finance, Supply Chain, HR, GTM

  • Working knowledge of market-leading data analytics tools such as - Tableau, PowerBI, Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, and other related technologies

  • Familiarity and/or knowledge of AI/ML concepts and industry best practices to manage project effort in that space

Stakeholder Management and Communication

  • Builds relationships with program stakeholders and team members
  • Responsible for driving and facilitating decision making, removing blockers and impediments.
  • Ability to drive conflict resolution between stakeholders and cross functional teams

Process/Policies/Standards

  • Drive adoption of ITPMO Practice processes, policies and standards across our delivery work

Product Road Map Planning

  • Actively participate on planning and prioritization of initiatives in partnership with Product Management and Product Owners.


Technology Project Methodologies

  • Obtains consensus among team members on project methodology, process, and templates

Project Portfolio Management

  • Defines portfolio reports


Management Reporting

  • Participates in monthly operational reviews of operational performance and roadmap status

  • Executes against operational KPIs

  • Reviews, identifies areas for improvement and makes recommendations to leadership


Resource and Budget Management

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans that are agreed upon by upper management

  • Works closely across IT and Technical Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for portfolio projects

  • Works closely with Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for larger projects

  • Requests approvals for additional expenses outside of approved budget/headcount

  • Communicates budget estimates for cross functional projects/programs, and ensures teams execute assigned projects within approved budgets

  • Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed

  • Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project/support/SW maintenance/ Renewals/purchases/etc. for his/her areas of responsibility


System Optimization

  • Reviews and approves recommendations from Manager, to implement improvements

  • Manages implementation of approved system improvement recommendations


R&D/Innovation

  • Drives innovation among the teams, recognizes innovation, and helps communicate new ideas across teams


Process/Policies/Standards

  • Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all stakeholders

  • Measures performance against process goals

  • Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/ policies/ standards


Road Map/Planning

  • Responsible for leading strategic planning, influencing and driving prioritization of initiatives with functional stakeholders

  • Responsible for developing and communicating a roadmap of projects and initiatives to functional stakeholders


Review/Approvals/Escalations/Issues Resolution

  • Monitors and manages support and operational metrics and trends for management areas

  • Identifies and prioritizes areas for optimization

  • Manager responsible for identification of significantly impactful/high risk issues, appropriate prioritization, resource assignment and ownership, and overseeing process through closure of issue while ensuring appropriate escalation and visibility to senior management teams

  • Manager oversees and supports RCA cycles, reviews management level reports related to issues and escalations

  • For more complex and higher risk issues, the manager will draft and support reviews Senior Leadership review cycles

Scrum Lead Responsibilities

  • Working closely to the Product Owner to ensures a minimum a two sprints worth of user stories are ready in the team backlog
  • Sprint planning and execution
    • Agile tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
    • Manage story progression in lifecycle (wall status within a sprint)
    • Burndown
    • Velocity
    • Capacity planning
    • Release planning
  • Facilitating sprint ceremonies: daily stand-up meetings, demo reviews, retrospectives, and sprint planning.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience required, 10+ years desired

  • 1+ years profession experience leading Data/Analytic projects

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Professional qualifications, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), SAFe, CSM (Certified Scrum Master), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified) prefer
