Job Summary
Partners with the business and IT community to ensure that the right people have access to the right data in the right format at the right time. Data Science Analyst is an advanced technical professional role responsible for exploring and analyzing data across the enterprise and presenting information and key insights that support the organization's strategies. The Data Science Analyst has in-depth knowledge across multiple technical environments as well as strong business acumen and provides expertise regarding systems design, integration and performance analysis across the business. The role promotes shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows, and it ensures that new technology solutions do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies. Develops strategies and provides guidance to the team in building data models.

Responsibilities
Business Analysis

• Partners with team members and vendors in enabling efficient requirements gathering

• Respected by business for deep, cross functional data analysis expertise and innovative solutioning in improving organizational effectiveness

• Able to distill executive level requirements into appropriate discovery work plans and guide team members on requirements gathering

• Proactively meets with stakeholders and engages in effective discussions resulting in new initiatives

Stakeholder Management

• Supports senior stakeholders and management team in identifying, communicating to senior stakeholders

• Recognized by senior managers as a skilled communicator, trusted to recognize and proactively manage key impacts

• Excels at stakeholder communication in identifying use cases with high business value

Solution Design

• Responsible for designing strategic cross-functional and global solutions that align with long-term organizational goals and roadmaps

• Advises on solutions prepared by peers or supporting team to ensure that good design practices are followed

• Recognized as expert within the industry

• Establishes standards

Documentation

• Supports senior management by creating architecture, project management and roadmap documentation

Data Management/Architecture/Design

• Supports senior management by giving them an understanding of data architecture, design methodologies and solutions to help socialize solutions and business value

Testing & Test Design

• Develops test strategy and execution to cover testing in an optimal amount of time and covers scenarios

• Organizes test labs for repetitive testing

• Drives designing repeatable test models for effective results

Project Management

• Optimizes release management to strike good balance between business goals and delivery capacity

• Able to logically split bigger projects into value added releases to gain business value in progression

• Identify and manage risks in release delivery

Software Engineering

• Guides the team on methodologies and tools to enable better design and build

• Has expertise in scripting with various programming languages and helps resolve issues for the team that need help

• Develops expertise in Data Mining and predictive modeling techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, decision trees and neural networks

• Has experience with Big Data Technologies (MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Yarn, Storm) and understands the concepts and technology ecosystem around both real-time and batch processing in Hadoop

Visualization

• Helps teams in delivering fresh insights from data by developing thought provoking, innovative, context- sensitive visualizations

• Takes the output from decision-support systems and turns it into consumable theories, postulates and hypotheses that can be tested and applied to the business

• Demonstrates a comprehension of hard science, a sound understanding of business goals and processes, and a penchant for creativity

• Communicates with the business stakeholders

• Designs, develops, and provides implementation of compelling data visualizations, dashboards, tools and utilities using Open Source technologies (Java/J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Spring, JQuery, D3, React.js, etc.)

• Analyzes techniques to organize data in visually innovative ways in order to make it easy to understand to the stakeholders and technical folks at the same time

Data Modeling & Analysis & Wrangling

• Helps demystify the ambiguity in requirements for the team

• Understands and advises on modeling techniques and provides guidance to the team in building efficient data models

• Drives data discovery initiatives with large volumes of data, communicates data patterns and deduces hypothesis for the stakeholders

• Drives the team to formulate innovative solutions to experiment and implement advanced data science solutions

• Accountable for product release certification ensuring highest quality and customer experience

Vendor Management

• Manages/leads individual consultants or consulting teams as assigned

• Participates in vendor advisory boards and user groups

• Accountable for creating and negotiating vendor contracts, MSA/SOW, License Agreements and driving through internal reviews with GTS leadership and Legal teams

Vendor & Technology Evaluation

• Executes and guides large-scale vendor evaluations by vetting recommendation and negotiation communications for executive review

• Drives executive communications and cross functional stakeholder buy-in

• Brings thought leadership to influence technology roadmap and decisions

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience

• Bachelor's in Data Science, Computer Science or Machine Learning

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 155,000 - 233,000 USD / Annual

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 139,000 - 209,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
