Job summary: The Equinix Operations Center (EOC) is a 24/7/365 environment encompassing two monitoring functions: Building Management Systems (BMS) and Security. The EOC is also responsible for Incident Management communications. The EOC Supervisor will be encouraged to be a subject matter expert in all areas supported by the team.
The Data Center Incident Monitoring Supervisor will provide leadership, guidance, and skill/career development to the Equinix Operations Center personnel across all shifts. Overall responsibilities include ensuring continuity of the following business functions; essential systems monitoring, CCTV and Access Control monitoring, updating and maintaining records, providing input to standardized processes, and assisting in compiling investigative information, timely processing and response to all transactions within the Operations Center including customer calls, site calls, incident management calls, and emails.
Responsible for weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting for senior management.
Responsible for regular operational metrics and reporting.
Ensure all databases and system information are updated and maintained and escalate trouble cases and emergencies as needed to lead and/or management personnel.
Ensure that all daily job functions/activities are carried out with accuracy.
Coordinate the completion of team projects.
Manage the timely response to all access and CCTV related alarms and issue timely notifications to customers.
Understand Equinix’s processes, policies, service offerings and products
Provides consulting support and makes recommendations to site operations team regarding appropriate, timely and needed improvements or enhancements.
Required: Bilingual (Spanish and English) with the ability to translate to and from English to Spanish when drafting communications.
Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
Ability to make clear timely decisions while utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Previous management experience a plus
Experienced with HVAC systems, alarm monitoring systems, AC and DC power systems.
Familiar with CCTV and Access System software and hardware.
Minimum of 2 years in data center systems support and/or security industry service or equivalent work experience
