Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical)

Are you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Engineer who enjoys hands-on work, fault finding, and keeping essential equipment operating reliably?

We're looking for a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Slough. You'll work on the systems that keep our facility running safely and efficiently, including electrical distribution, cooling equipment, pumps, generators, fire protection systems, and other building services infrastructure.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership, and working as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Monitor building systems and respond to alarms and equipment issues.

  • Troubleshoot faults and carry out repairs safely and effectively.

  • Support the operation of critical infrastructure including power, cooling, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

  • Complete inspections, maintenance checks, and equipment testing.

  • Respond to incidents and help resolve operational issues.

  • Work with contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.

  • Review maintenance documentation, permits, and procedures.

  • Support infrastructure upgrades and improvement projects.

  • Identify potential risks and recommend improvements.

  • Help manage spare parts and equipment inventory.

  • Share knowledge and support less experienced engineers when needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in an electrical or mechanical engineering role.

  • Experience carrying out maintenance and fault finding on building services or infrastructure systems.

  • Ability to diagnose problems and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Experience working safely in an operational environment.

  • Good understanding of maintenance procedures and technical documentation.

  • Comfortable working with contractors and external suppliers.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship, trade qualification, City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in maintenance, facilities, infrastructure, building services, or critical environment operations.

Shift Pattern

4 on, 4 off rotating shift pattern (days and nights).
