Job summary
You will be a key contributor in shaping and directing the execution of Equinix’s enterprise strategy. Partnering closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and the executive team, this individual will focus on the translation of the long-term strategy into a clear, actionable, and measurable multi-year strategic roadmap.
We are looking for an all-star contributor to the Corporate Strategy team with experience in cross-functional strategy formulation and strategic planning at large enterprises. You will work closely with key leaders across all functions within Equinix and support the executive team’s strategy agenda across short and long-term horizons. This will involve identifying and managing key trade-offs in how we chart and act against our most promising growth levers at an enterprise level.
This role works at the core of Equinix as part of the Corporate Strategy team. This is a fast-paced, high-growth team tasked with leading change in the way Equinix maps its company strategy through a critical inflection point in our industry. Responsibilities
Shaping enterprise strategy
Connect the dots across long and short-term enterprise-wide strategies to drive coherent choices; requires an in-depth understanding of Equinix’s market position and growth levers across multiple time horizons
Support the Corporate Strategy team and adjacent functions in designing and implementing improvements to the enterprise-level strategic planning process
Act as a key thought partner to the CSO and functional leaders, contributing insights on business, technology, and operational strategy
Work collaboratively across functions and regions to prioritize and manage a portfolio of critical strategic initiatives on an on-going basis
Managing strategic decisioning
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives, providing thought leadership and constructive challenge to optimize business initiatives
Oversee financial and business performance analysis, ensuring data-driven decision-making and setting of clear KPIs
Work closely with other central corporate functions to establish and manage efficient communications and discussions with the executive team on critical strategy topics
Defining the enterprise operating plan
Collaborate with central functions to build, maintain, and leverage financial models to make key strategic decisions and integrate implications into long-term forecasts
Synthesize long-term market forces and short-term strategic decisions to continuously evaluate growth drivers
Monitor execution performance against strategic decisions and assumptions to diagnose potential challenges and recommend course corrections
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution
5-6+ years’ professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or private equity.
Candidates whose professional experience includes 2-3+ years at a leading strategy consulting firm or in corporate strategy at a large enterprise are preferred. Technology industry experience preferred but not required.
Experience in driving work within an enterprise-level strategic planning process
Repeated experience building complex financial models, forecasting corporate performance and decision implications across multi-year horizons at large enterprises (e.g., Fortune 500, Forbes Global 2000). Preference for experience with capex intensive industries
Proven track-record in framing and leading project management of cross-functional strategy initiatives
Demonstrated ability to assess strategic initiatives, challenge initiative owners constructively, and drive execution feasibility
Strong influencing skills, including building stakeholder relationships with senior leaders and demonstrated ability to shape strategic direction without direct authority
Proven track record in providing novel and innovative solutions to complex or difficult strategic issues
Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies
Deep analytical, problem-solving, and data-centric decision-making capabilities
Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to drive work through ambiguity in a dynamic, results-oriented environment
The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $139,000 to $209,000 per year
Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $118,000 to $176,000 per year
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
