Job Summary: The Controls Security Engineer advances the security of Equinix International Business Exchanges (IBXs) through enabling the documentation of controls systems corresponding to IBX devices and networks and assisting with the operationalization of new capabilities to improve threat and vulnerability management for operational technology. This person interacts with and coordinates efforts to promote security across numerous interdepartmental team members, including the in-house corporate operations engineering personnel, the operations engineering staff at IBX sites, information technology teams, information security teams, networking teams, outside support vendors, and consultants.
Responsibilities
Collaborating with the global operations engineering and information security teams, to develop a standard format for storing and displaying controls network documentation, including device connectivity, device details, and network design.
Developing and maintaining controls system network diagrams for each IBX using design documentation, online tools, interviews with site operations, and physical inspection (when required).
Assist with development, implementation and troubleshooting of Equinix's operational technology threat and vulnerability management system.
Utilize safe working practices at an expert level.
Travel, including overseas and other assignments as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years professional experience in control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with an emphasis on controls security.
Experience with one or more brands of control systems including: ABB, Siemens, Automated Logic Corporation (ALC), Johnson Controls, Rockwell Controllogix and FactoryTalk, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Delta Controls, Delta-V, OSIsoft Pi, Quantum, Andover, or AVEVA (Wonderware).
Network certification such as Network+, CCIE, CCNP, WCNA or similar preferred.
Able to understand and implement control strategies and architecture using Sequence of Operation and P&ID drawings, SAMA diagrams, or the equivalent.
Must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Visio effectively.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to compose technical and position papers for publication internal and external to the company.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
