Meet Fanny Yu, a senior manager on the Partner Account Management team in Hong Kong. In our latest People Spotlight series, we speak with Fanny and get a glimpse into her role. After nearly a decade as a partner account manager at a global network company, Fanny joined Equinix during the COVID-19 pandemic. As she approaches her six-year milestone with us, Fanny not only developed her selling skills but also grown as a leader, manager and team player, contributing to our success.
A seamless transition into a new role.
"Although the products and services were new to me, I was able to transition smoothly into Equinix thanks to the comprehensive Sales Onboarding Accelerated Ramp (SOAR) training for new hires," she says.
SOAR is a comprehensive onboarding program tailored to equip specific selling roles with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively communicate Equinix's value proposition and enhance value for our customers.
Fanny adds that "it wasn't just about learning products and processes; it was about connecting with our executives and understanding the core values that drive our culture." She continues: "Our Chief Sales Officer, Mike Campbell, emphasized that SOAR is not just for onboarding but also a platform for building connections and networks within the company. As part of continuous learning, our Global Sales Enablement team plays a very important role in providing regular and targeted training programs for various sales positions within Equinix."
The SOAR program equips our sellers with relevant knowledge and skills while fostering a sense of belonging. It's a statement of our dedication to professional development, ensuring that every team member is connected and empowered to excel.
Nurturing potential and building accomplishments
Fanny's journey is one of many success stories that exemplify the growth opportunities within Equinix. She has progressed from an individual contributor to a people manager, leading the Channel Sales team in the Hong Kong office. As she shares, "I am proud of building a robust partner ecosystem that fosters channel harmony in Hong Kong." It's an incredible feat to build a strong channel team with our APAC partners, and Fanny has achieved that within three years as a senior manager on the Partner Account Management team, driving growth and partnership across Hong Kong and APAC.
