Responsibilities

Technology Program Management (Ongoing program with multiple projects and teams Identify, Change, Empower, Monitor)

  • Primary and current focus of this position is to supervise and own the Service Now GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) Implementation Program which includes:
  • Introduces and implements large program process changes across departments and to Directors and VPs
  • Defines program Key Performance Indicators
  • Introduces collaboration concepts and champions a balanced partnership environment
  • Plans for long-term program resources
  • Facilitates program retrospective meetings
  • Defines and documents roles and responsibilities
  • Technology Project Planning and Execution (Single Project with a start date and end date. Plan, Complete, Close)
  • Scopes and plans for very large technology projects
  • Identifies resources and form project team, and obtains resource commitment from line managers
  • Selects and applies project methodology to projects, educates team members and carry outs processes
  • Presents project effort estimation and acquire project budget
  • Conducts project review meetings

Team member Management and Communication

  • Establishes relationships with company VPs and Directors
  • Communicates major project/program scope, schedule, resource, and budget changes
  • Responsible for driving and influencing senior leadership decision making
  • Is able to effectively identify appropriate collaborators
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships and partnerships with customers
  • Ability to drive conflict resolution between customers, including senior management and cross functional teams
  • Sets and influences customer expectations
  • Responsible for clear communication to customers

Technology Project Methodologies

  • Acquires consensus among team members on project methodology, process, and templates

Program Management Tools

  • Introduces new tools or new tool features to GTS and other departments

Project Portfolio Management

  • Defines portfolio reports
  • Identifies ways to increase the efficiency of all Global Technology Services (GTS) projects

Management Reporting

  • Participates in monthly operational reviews of operational performance and roadmap status
  • Reviews, identifies areas for improvement and makes recommendations to leadership

Resource and Budget Management

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans that are agreed upon by upper management
  • Works closely across GTS and Technical Project Managers to supervise prioritization and utilization for portfolio projects
  • Requests approvals for additional expenses outside of approved budget/headcount
  • Communicates budget estimates for cross functional projects/programs, and ensures teams complete assigned projects within approved budgets
  • Handles and/or advances issues, as needed
  • Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project/support/SW maintenance/ Renewals/purchases/etc. for their areas of responsibility

System Optimization

  • Reviews and approves recommendations from Manager, to implement improvements
  • Leads implementation of approved system improvement recommendations

R&D/Innovation

  • Drives innovation among the teams, recognizes innovation, and helps communicate new insights across teams

Process/Policies/Standards

  • Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all customers
  • Measures performance against process goals
  • Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/ policies/ standards

Road Map/Planning

  • Responsible for leading, influencing and driving prioritization of initiatives with functional customers
  • Responsible for developing and presenting a roadmap of projects and initiatives to functional customers

People Management

  • Provides leadership and direction to the team, through managers
  • Responsible for succession planning
  • Responsible for talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans
  • Models the Equinix Culture and Values

Review/Approvals/Escalations/Issues Resolution

  • Monitors and handles support and operational metrics and trends for management areas
  • Identifies and prioritizes areas for optimization
  • Manager responsible for identification of significantly impactful/high risk issues, appropriate prioritization, resource assignment and ownership, and overseeing process through closure of issue while ensuring appropriate partner concern and visibility to senior management teams
  • Manager coordinates and supports RCA cycles, reviews management level reports related to issues and customer concerns
  • For more sophisticated and higher risk issues, the manager will draft and support reviews Senior Leadership review cycles

Vendor Management

  • Manages/leads individual consultants or consulting teams, as assigned
  • Understands vendor roadmaps, handles relationships, feedback and issues, negotiations and contract renewals
  • Reviews and proposes final vendor selections
  • Handles day-to-day vendor relationships and holds vendors accountable to their deliverables
  • Resolves vendor issues and calls out as needed

Country/Regional Management

  • Leads team of local technology professionals in a given country/region
  • Handles technology and/or human resources in a single location, being familiar with local language, law and regulations, as needed
  • Partners with global technology owners and regional customers, to implement and maintain global technology standards
  • Handles relationships with regional/functional collaborators
  • Defines, presents and acquires leadership approval for local execution strategy, aligned to global standards

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience program and project management preferred
  • 1+ years professional experience in a supervisory/managerial role preferred
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • ServiceNow program management experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification helpful
