Job Summary
This role is a senior individual contributor within the PMO, responsible for leading large, complex, strategic programs and driving PMO maturity, standardization, and best practices across the Americas.
The role will act as a coach, mentor, and capability builder for project and program managers, ensuring consistent execution of projects aligned with industry best practices. This position requires a strong technical perspective in project management, bringing proven experiences to elevate PMO methodologies, improve delivery consistency, and enable global visibility of the project portfolio.
Responsibilities
PMO Strategy & Planning
Contribute to and refine PMO methodologies, frameworks, and standards
Support development and execution of strategic programs and initiatives across the Americas
Establish and standardize end-to-end project lifecycle practices
Project/Program Oversight
Support and guide delivery of complex, strategic programs across the region, ensuring alignment with defined methodologies, standardized processes, and governance frameworks
Drive consistency, quality, and accountability across projects by enabling project managers to execute with discipline, adhere to best practices, and deliver against established standards
Smartsheet Leadership (Critical)
Act as a Smartsheet subject matter expert supporting project portfolio
Partner with the Smartsheet administrator to - (Drive adoption and scalability, build dashboards, workflows, and reporting frameworks, ensure data consistency and portfolio visibility)
Support development of global templates and standardized reporting models
PM Capability Building (Training, Coaching & Mentoring)
Serve as a coach, mentor, and advisor to project and program managers
Provide guidance on - (Stakeholder management, risk and issue management, proactive project planning, managing complex conversations and escalations
Design and deliver training, playbooks, and enablement programs
Drive consistency in how projects are managed across the PMO
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with regional and global stakeholders across Americas, EMEA, and other regions
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment on processes, tools, and delivery standards
Influence stakeholders to adopt standardized PM practices and tools
Communications
Develop and standardize clear, executive-ready communication frameworks, including communication plans, status reporting, and leadership presentations (PowerPoint) to ensure alignment across regional and global stakeholders
Enable consistent, effective communication practices across the PMO, coaching project managers to engage stakeholders proactively and convey complex project information clearly
Continuous Improvement & PMO Maturity
Collaborate cross-functionally and with global counterparts to optimize tools and processes Drive initiatives to improve PM maturity and operational excellence
Bring external insights and industry best practices to continuously evolve the PMO
Support creation of a centralized, global portfolio view
Qualifications
Typically, 10+ years of experience in project/program management or PMO roles
Proven experience driving PMO transformation, standardization, or capability building initiatives
Strong, hands-on expertise in Smartsheet, including building dashboards, workflows, and reporting solutions
Demonstrated experience training, coaching, and mentoring project and program managers
Formal project management training or certifications preferred (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile, Six Sigma)
Deep understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle, governance frameworks, and best practices
Strong stakeholder management experience across global, cross-functional environments
Advanced communication and presentation skills, including development of executive-level PowerPoint materials
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 136,000 - 204,000 USD / Annual
Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 139,000 - 209,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
