Equinix is seeking a Water Engineer  to lead and deliver water treatment solutions. This role blends strategic design input with operational expertise, ensuring our water systems—from large campus infrastructure to individual sites—are safe, compliant, and resilient.
You will work closely with internal engineering teams, external vendors, and local authorities to design, implement, and maintain water treatment systems that meet international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Compliance Delivery
  • Conduct water sampling, temperature monitoring, and chemical dosing across commercial sites.
  • Perform clean and disinfection of water systems including tanks, calorifiers, and cooling towers.
  • Carry out TMV servicing, endoscopic inspections, and mains injection chlorination works.
  • Maintain site logbooks and ensure documentation is compliant.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to schedule works and report issues.
  • Identify faults and recommend remedial actions to ensure system integrity.
  • Support Legionella risk assessments and compliance audits.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work with contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams to ensure systems are built and maintained to specification.
  • Engage with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to secure approvals and manage code compliance.
  • Provide training, documentation, and technical support to operations teams.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience in water treatment design, engineering, or compliance servicing.
  • Proven experience with water hygiene regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Water Quality Association Certified Treatment Designer.
  • Legionella awareness training and certified risk assessor.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Confined space training or CSCS card.
  • BOAS or water chemistry qualifications.
  • Experience in acid descaling of boilers, towers, and condensers
