Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development EMEAThe Role
Reporting to the President EMEA, the VP leads the EMEA Strategy & Corporate Development Team and is responsible for all strategic planning and deal activities related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate and strategic investments in the region. The VP works closely with executive team and relevant functions to ensure timely execution of our regional strategy, M&A, real estate investments and capital planning projects.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic planning
Leads annual strategic planning process in conjunction with Regional and Corporate teams
Approves strategy/business case development and sponsors at the executive level
Negotiates at executive level to obtain buy-in for cross-functional projects
Provides vision and input into research on market extension opportunities
Investment Management & Optimization
Sets the direction and strategy for data center development pipeline, managing and prioritizing regional $Xbn capex budget and approving planned capacity additions
Sets metro real estate strategies and optimizes data center development plans within metro, leading Design & Construction, Sales, Operations, Finance and other teams to improve regional performance and execution
Oversees all regional real estate transactions, including land acquisition, building acquisitions, lease renewals, and new leases
Responsible for management of tenant lease portfolio
Responsible for underwriting and seeking management and board approval for capital expansions
Represents investment proposals to executive management at global investment committees
Guides ad hoc financial analysis and supports investment analysis across functions
Oversees budget and forecasts for regional capex investments
Mergers & Acquisitions
Establishes and leads M&A strategy for the region
Sources and analyzes accretive acquisition and partnership opportunities for region
Establishes expectations and leads cross-functional teams through sourcing, evaluating, and buying/selling processes
Drives development of operational models and synergy forecasts for targets
Leads negotiations (with support from legal team) for M&A transactions
Represents and drives deal approvals at the senior executive and Board Level
Lead a diverse, high-performing team, creating an inclusive culture
Shapes a collaborative, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture.
Motivates employees around shared vision
Knowledge and Experience sought:
Substantial track record of strategy formulation, M&A and real estate deal closing experience and business partnership experience
Demonstrated track record in general management, investment banking, corporate development and strategy
Significant experience over a broad range of deal sizes (<$10M and >$500 M) is advantageous
Experience of dealing and negotiating with government bodies across EMEA is highy advantageous
Experience of the telecoms, digital infrastructure or technology domain regionally and globally. Knowledge of the data center business advantageous

Ability to determine and present clear strategic direction for inorganic and organic deals
Inspirational leader with strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally with diverse business unit leaders in a global matrix
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
Proven record of working with senior executives
Proactive, collaborative, and able to work comfortably in a non-hierarchical context
