Data Center Experience (DCX)
This role will be on the centralized DCX design & research team. DCX covers the user experience of teams that work inside our 220+ Data Centers. That includes Technicians, Engineers, Security Officers, and Visitors. DCX also covers the experiences of Incident Responders, Capacity Planners & DC Design and Construction teams. These users on custom applications on touch devices. It is an exciting opportunity to design and research for unique experiences such as 2D/3D maps, and responsive mobile experiences. We have direct access to our users.
Applies critical thinking to a variety of complex user problems, taking into account user needs, business objectives and technical constraints
Can act as an internal UX SME for other internal or third-party projects, to ensure design consistency and sharing of best practices
Accountable for the performance and results of direct reports
Responsible for: - the performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire recommendations - GPS process including assessments and Total Rewards allocations of direct reports - talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans · Models the Equinix Culture and Values"
Resource and Budget Management
Works closely with Marketing Managers and Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for assigned projects
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from his/her manager
Requests approvals for additional expenses outside of approved budget/headcount
Communicates budget estimates, and ensures team executes assigned projects within approved budgets
Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed
Process / Policies / Standards
Creates/refines efficient processes, standards, and policies
Monitors violations, and designs a remediation plan to ensure adherence
10+ years experience preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
A portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and mobile application.
Experience building solutions that are comprised of many products and services.
Experience with 2D, 3D Maps, and Robotics is a nice to have.
Experience establishing Accessibility focus for products.
Ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
A passion for design in enterprise healthcare, cloud, or data warehousing and analytics products.
