The Equinix Marketplace and Discovery team is innovating new ways of building software that scales to meet the needs of multiple businesses across Equinix ecosystem. We are looking for a Technical Product Manager with a Data Science background to own the product roadmap and execution for data-driven AI and ML-based products along with the Marketplace team. We provide a set of digital tools and services that empower Equinix customers and the internal team to efficiently discover Equinix's ecosystem and connect them to other service providers. These products might be on front-end web applications, microservices, or data infrastructure services. Your customers include Equinix's internal team, Equinix customers, and partners.
A Technical Product Manager at Equinix will own an end-to-end user journey, ensuring that we provide quality customer experiences when they interact with the product. In addition, you will be expected to dive deep into the technology from both an architectural and a business value perspective.
On a typical day, you might talk to other product managers in your team, write a product spec document, collaborate with a UX/UI designer on wireframing, create user stories, manage scrum meetings, define and prioritize the roadmap, deep dive into the root cause of a customer's issue, engage in the deployment process and release the latest feature, consult with the top engineers, researchers and global solution architects at Equinix, define and report business metrics using analytics tools, and do go-to-market planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills, including a strong ability to identify and solve end-user problems and work well with cross-functional teams to develop product spec documents, epics, and user stories
Prior experience working with data scientists and designing a user interface for data-driven AI and ML-based products
In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodology, including backlog grooming and managing your scrum team meetings
Ability to define product success metrics and analyze KPIs against business goals on weekly, monthly and annual bases.
Understanding of customer-centric design principles and excellent collaboration with the user-experience designers and researchers on defining end-to-end user journey and wireframe development; participation in design reviews, portal architecture design, technical reviews, user interviews, and brainstorming sessions
Experience in developing product spec documents, epics, user stories; managing the product backlog; and weighing priorities according to stakeholders' business needs and objectives
Ability to interface directly with the cross-functional stakeholders to understand, document, design, develop, and test the best possible customer experience
Experience working integrally with engineering leaders on detailed project plans and engaging cross-functional teams during the development phases of the product lifecycle
Skilled in developing weekly business review reports.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, math, or other technical degrees
4+ years of experience in technical product management in an agile product development environment.
Background in data science, data analytics, and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Amplitude Analytics and FullStory.
MBA or an advanced quantitative/technical master degree is a plus.
Experience with project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and Aha!
