Job Summary
Equinix Software Architecture & Engineering team is on a mission to help build Equinix’s next-generation interconnection and SDN platform - Equinix Fabric. We are looking for excellent software developers to join this team to build a next-generation SDN-based platform.

 

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Design, Development, and Support of Software Products and Solutions

  • Collaborating with product management & clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements

  • Defining the vision for the product and maintaining a cohesive vision throughout the process

  • Creating a product roadmap based on this vision, managing the product backlog, and prioritizing the tasks based on changing requirements

  • Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development

  • Working with the product team and end-users to deliver updates and status reports

  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints

  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process

  • Develop unit test plans, and test suites, and perform tests on software solutions

  • Solve bugs, engage in troubleshooting, and interact with the internal developer community

  • Assist in the analysis & evaluation of new technologies to meet the demand for the product roadmap and technology platform goals

  • Advocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to Engineering standards

  • Participate in the Design & Peer Code Review process

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 10+ years of software development working experience with 8+ years of working experience in Java and Java Spring framework.

  • 2+ years of experience in working closely with product management and/or clients

  • Understanding of OSI layers and networking concepts

  • Good understanding of cloud networking concepts

  • Work experience and knowledge of REST API development

  • Work experience in messaging service like Kafka or RabbitMQ

  • Experience using RDBMS such as Postgres, Oracle, etc

  • Hands-on experience with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Hands-on experience with K8S, docker, and a good understanding of virtualization technologies 

  • Agile-scrum methodology experience in a software development team

  • DevOps and CI/CD work experience and knowledge will be a plus

  • Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills

  • Disciplined approach to unit testing and TDD where appropriate

  • Should have good knowledge of Agile/Scrum, continuous integration, and deployment

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 142,000 - 212,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
