Job Summary
To help develop these capabilities, the Equinix Power & Sustainability Product Management team is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Product Manager with a track record of leading engineering scrum teams and delivering customer-centric automation and IoT services and capabilities. This is an opportunity to help define and advance how enterprises around the world observe, orchestrate, and interact with next-generation data center infrastructure.
The role requires someone responsible for ensuring stakeholder needs and use cases are deeply understood, translated into functional and technical specifications, and managed through a development life cycle from start to finish. You will serve as an Agile coach and work closely with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, building and managing relationships and product roadmaps. A strong understanding of product development, relationship management skills, and experience developing colocation and IoT products in a high-technology, dynamic environment is crucial to your success.
Responsibilities
Technical Product Management
Lead engineering scrum teams tasked with delivering world-class digital infrastructure experiences and APIs
Play a leading role in formulating product strategy, collaborating with key stakeholders, and execute on the committed roadmap
Partner with and deeply listen to customers, sales and operations teams, and other stakeholders to identify unmet needs and new use cases
Be comfortable and effective in working in a fast-paced, collaborative, matrixed environment, and work closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
Validate ideas with customers before, during, and after development
Manage the backlog: Help prioritize items to move forward among many candidates based on an analysis of the business opportunity vs. level of effort. Bring a rigorous and strategic mindset to evaluating and prioritizing competing requirements, including features, bugs, and tech debt
Work with Product Managers to define good confidence release deliverables for any given release
Lead definition of allowable configurations, test cases and execute UAT
Lead triage of issues across UAT cycles and manage defect resolution
Serve as the subject matter expert and evangelist for the product
Identify improvements to existing product processes; develops a strong understanding of processes and technology
Work with the User Experience teams and facilitate the development of User Interface workflows aligned with functional objectives
Complete ad-hoc assignments that assist in the development of product strategy and roadmap
Understand the business value and verify that the team delivers business value
Design product training curriculum; participate in cross-functional training and meetings
Define metrics that will be used to inform product success and drive UX improvements
Collaborate with product engineering, network architects, network deployment, and service delivery teams to roll out new offers, releases, and markets
Manage stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions
Evaluate incoming product-related issues from internal and external customers to determine the severity and response
Triage production software issues and follow up with cross-functional teams until fixes are tested and deployed

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field (or equivalent)
Proven 7 years of experience as a Technical Product Manager or a Software Engineer
Experience with IoT technology and/or hardware/firmware integration preferred
API development experience and ability to extend the API into the platform and product
Strategic thinking with a clear understanding of levers that drive modern SaaS offerings
Trained in Agile development methodology with experience as product owner/backlog owner
Experience with and ability to work with a global team across Europe, APAC, and AMER time zones
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities and extreme attention to detail, and ability to self-audit work
Ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated proactive contributor and subject matter expert on the product. Familiarity with business issues or the ability to quickly learn
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills
