Job Summary
The Sr. Technical Instructional Designer will be responsible for assessing, designing and developing enablement and training solutions that provide foundational and advanced knowledge, industry expertise and technical skills for field technical sales roles and our revenue organization.
The individual in this role will work with the target audience, business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to define enablement objectives. They will then use these insights and requirements to develop technical content and build learning solutions that are audience and technical-relevant, practical and scalable.
This is someone who is passionate about working with technical sales and/or technical related audiences, effective at building relationships, and adept at synthesizing large amounts of complex information to make it simple and actionable.
This position is an individual contributor role and will report to the Sr. Manager, GTM Readiness Instructional Design team.
Responsibilities
Engage the field technical sales team and business stakeholders to identify knowledge, skill and systems enablement requirements for technical sales
Leverage information gained through needs analysis to recommend, design, develop and implement engaging, informative and visually compelling learning experiences, including online learning, instructor led training, virtual training, job aids, instructional videos, audio/video scripts and role play exercises
Collaborate with SMEs to develop and review the enablement and training content and proactively identify additional expert resources who can address content gaps
Develop knowledge assessments, certification exams, and programs to measure participant learning and application
Measure and assess the effectiveness of enablement and training solutions to inform future program requirements and identify areas where additional learning and reinforcement are required
Actively review and evaluate the enablement and training solutions library to determine when content needs to be updated, replaced or retired
Conduct training pilots, as well as train-the-trainer sessions, as needed
Constantly seek to evolve and refine the enablement and training solutions strategy
Qualifications
7+ years’ experience scoping, planning, designing, developing, and implementing effective technical sales for a technology company
Experience working directly with technical sales, and direct sales to understand their learning needs, vet content, and gather closed loop feedback
Consultative approach and proven track record of effective collaboration and influence at all levels of an organization, with ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment
Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, including dealing with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong program management skills
Experience using content development tools including Articulate 360, SnagIt and Camtasia
Proactive, self-directed and results-oriented
Some technical knowledge and content development a plus
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $106,000 to $188,000
California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $98,000 to $175,000
Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $89,000 to $159,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range displayed reflects On-Target Earnings or OTE, which is base pay plus commissions, and does not include equity or benefits. Equity may be offered depending on the position.
