The Team

As the central data and analytics organization at Equinix, the Data & Analytics (DNA) department is the mastermind behind the company’s most strategic initiatives that harness the power of data and analytics to drive smarter decision-making and empower effective operations.

The Operations team within DNA plays a pivotal role in continuously improving the quality and completeness of our data and reporting capabilities and advancing the sophistication of our BI solutions across the organization. The team oversees the cleansing, standardization, and enrichment of analytics data to ensure integrity and quality; develops syndicated data packs and reporting solutions to provide foundational insights; and employs tools and technology to facilitate a more secured and efficient consumption of data and insights across the organization.

We are hiring a leader who will drive the expansion of our reporting capabilities and help us establish a deeper bench in data democratization and syndicated reporting. A highly critical and visible role, the Senior Manager of Reporting Operations will lead a team of 15+ domain reporting experts on- and offshore, covering 12+ key business domains (e.g., Revenue, Bookings, Pricing, etc.). The role has significant and regular interfaces with a diverse set of internal clients and stakeholders, from technical staff, business partners, and senior management across organizational boundaries, to obtain resources, coordinate key reporting activities, and drive results.

Detailed Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Define the team's value proposition, work scope, and goals, obtain alignment and buy-in, and continuously improve communication channels to ensure the adequate flow of information within the team,

  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards to manage the team’s performance and achieve individual/team goals.

  • Instrument employee coaching and engagement activities to drive team members’ success and satisfaction.

Product Roadmap Ownership

  • Own the overall reporting development roadmap to evolve a cohesive set of product offerings that meet the needs of our broad user base, including New data replication and ingestion, prioritization and coordination with the DataMart Infrastructure unit, continuous enhancements of standardized reporting products, among others.

  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly reporting activities across production, control, distribution, and business support including, Equinix's Quarterly Operating Review ("Fusion"), DNA Insights Products, Orbis dashboards and self-service tools, and other reporting solutions

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with functional and business stakeholders and partners and consult with senior management and functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand future data and reporting needs, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with DNA partners on data management including, Data Governance and Strategy for master data management; Data Management and Quality for identification of data gaps and resolutions, Data Products Marketing for portfolio rationalization and standardization, among others.

  • Facilitate training for the analytics community to drive better adoption and use of insights products and other standardized reports

Quality Management & Process Improvement

  • Devise a system to measure & evaluate the integrity of reporting data and resolve data quality issues that impact reporting.

  • Partner closely with the DNA Product Marketing team to ensure all DNA standardized reporting products meet agreed quality standards set for features, user experience, and data quality.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of reporting-related work experience with demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide programs and delivering an E2E portfolio of reporting-related products and solutions.

  • 7+ years experience successfully leading medium to large-sized teams (4+ members) and managing diverse and seasoned talents.

  • Extensive experience in developing standardized reports using reporting tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics. Master's degree preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading a team with strong character references and high employee satisfaction score. Can articulate the team’s mission, obtain the team members’ buy-in, and collaborate with them to achieve the mission.

  • Team Management: Thrives in managing people with different backgrounds, seniority levels, personalities, including the “challenging” ones. Can motivate the team and drive results amidst conflicts and ambiguities.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the company’s data architecture, BI infrastructure, and data security landscape. Can recommend industry best practices on reporting tools, data visualization, data security policies etc.

  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of Equinix’s strategy, value proposition, product portfolio, and the industry forces that shape its trajectory. Can apply that knowledge to seize opportunities and address challenges.

  • Stakeholder Management: Experience working with internal/external clients and stakeholders with demonstrated success in collaborating with and influencing peers, stakeholders, and leaders to work towards shared business goals.

  • Communications. Ability to distill and simplify complex ideas and tell a compelling story about the team’s value proposition and the products they “sell”, whether through verbal or written communications, or through PowerPoint presentation.
