Job Summary: The Data & Analytics (DNA) team is the centralized analytics organization at Equinix chartered with unlocking the power of data to drive decisions across our business. We are looking for a senior manager to join the Business Analytics that applies a mix of strategy consulting, technical, implementation and presentation skills to advise our senior executives on the organization’s most strategic and highest priority challenges. The ideal candidate for the role will combine management consultant, business analyst, and visual designer skills. Your responsibilities are to develop, implement and scale analytics deliverables that inform critical business strategies through transformative analytics. You will be challenged to gather and analyze information, formulate, and test hypotheses, and deliver insights through compelling presentations to Equinix top management.
Run a team of analysts and managers to deliver consulting and analytics projects to top management and their business support teams
Formulate hypothesis, develop presentation storyboard, and implement end-to-end analysis on consultative projects for DNA’s executive stakeholders
Breakdown complex issues, define concisely the business questions at hand, and perform data-driven exploratory analysis to stress-test hypothesis
Develop and present high-quality recommendation and deliverables (PPT, Word, scorecard/dashboard, etc.) for executive level consumption
Own the design and development of dashboards, scorecards and other forms of performance trackers to present insightful findings in a visually compelling manner that helps leadership understand root cause issues
Manage reporting and business analysts on the team to implement large scale analytics projects such as the quarterly operating reviews – the authoritative bible on the health of our business that guides key go-to-market decisions
Lead other data and analytics practitioners to adopt best practices in effectively gathering intelligence, improving data quality, identifying key market trends, and formulating compelling insights
7+ years of experience in management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, etc.), investment banking, private equity, or top-tier tech strategy or “bizops” functions (Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc.) highly preferred
People skills: 2-3 years of experience in running a team of analysts
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, etc.) from a top tier university; MBA graduate from a top-tier B-school or similar academic credentials preferred
Deep business acumen: able to command a deep understanding of the business questions that need to be answered through analytics
Highly analytical: experienced in decomposing and solving real world business problems through relevant data and analytical frameworks
Creative data visualization: skilled at synthesizing complex ideas and large amounts of data into compelling stories through elegant yet powerful visuals
Proactive and passionate: capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering high quality results in challenging situations
Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and some programming skills (e.g. SAS/SQL/R, Visual Basic, Python) preferred
Knowledge and experience working in the Enterprise technology industry
