Job Summary
Equinix is on a transformational journey to meet our future needs as a growing and evolving platform company. The Senior Manager HR Process Excellence will play an active role in shaping this transformation from an HR perspective. The successful candidate will be a customer-focused, self-starter with outstanding decision-making and problem-solving skills and will be proactive, resourceful, and skilled at developing and implementing creative process-centric solutions to business challenges. We are seeking a business savvy, enthusiastic, and results-oriented professional with highly effective execution and communication skills and proven experience managing multiple projects to completion and building followership quickly. The successful candidate will be comfortable and able to deliver high quality solutions and deliverables in a highly dynamic, complex, and high-paced environment and will have led a HR Process workstream for a global HR Transformation.
Responsibilities
Lead teams
Build, motivate, develop, and lead a matrixed team of process architects and business analysis. Efficiently and effectively drive team results, initially as an individual contributor and later as a people manager as the team grows
Be a transformational thought leader and coach
Advocate for continuous improvement, streamlining processes, and empowering staff with the tools and capabilities to continuously look for opportunities to make their processes easier and more efficient. You will be highly motivated, passionate with a lean mindset, leading change while coaching people in continuous improvement methodologies
Manage transformational process optimization initiatives
Clearly establish business objectives: Define problem statement, KPIs, objectives, scope, success criteria, approach and align stakeholders; Lead multi-disciplined teams in gathering business rules, requirements, and acceptance criteria for projects
Analyze current state: Understand deficiencies with current processes and associated root causes
Design the future state
Partner with business leaders, IT (if applicable), and project managers to design, pilot, and implement fit-for-purpose future state processes based on business objectives and requirements
Develop, analyze, and propose options that achieve objectives, balancing effort, cost, impact, and speed
Perform gap analysis
Create roadmaps and roll-out plans: Work with project teams to design an implementation approach and support roll-out including planning and managing all of the necessary operationalizing of the new processes
Implementation: Support full implementation and change management to embed and ensure adoption of new processes
Stakeholder management
Perform stakeholder analysis
Ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement and buy-in
Create and drive broad stakeholder alignment
Resolve stakeholder issues, escalating as needed
Change management
Manage and execute end-to-end change management activities for complex projects, including driving change readiness and impact analysis, supporting the planning and execution of communications, and championing the changes
Support Agile delivery: Assist teams with rapid delivery of incremental value to stakeholders, leveraging experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and backlog prioritization
Use best practices: Determine and apply appropriate methodologies, tools, and best practices for analysis, solutioning, and deployment
Provide business case support: Lead cost benefit analysis and other ROI/business case analysis
Qualifications
Proven experience in leading global, cross-functional end-to-end process redesign, transformation, and improvement initiatives
Proven experience in applying process excellence practices in HR
Experience of leading a global HR process workstream for a HR Transformation Programme
Proven experience in people management experience
Experience leading a team of process improvement experts and coaching leaders on new processes
Fluency in translating business objectives and insights into optimal process design
Demonstrated ability to translate lean, six sigma and process improvement tools and methodologies into simple, practical action
Success at leading cross-functional workshops and alignment events
Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership decision making, facilitating problem solving, and mediating conflict
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, work autonomously with minimal oversight, and be proactive with communications and task prioritization
Strong business acumen
Solid knowledge of Microsoft suite of Office products, including Visio
Bachelor’s degree
MBA or similar advance degree a strong plus
Lean Six Sigma black belt certification or equivalent experience and/or Agile certification a strong plus
Deep knowledge of and experience with project management methodologies
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of lead-to-cash processes a strong plus
