The Role

The IT Infrastructure team are recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will perform a wide variety of complex analytical, design, planning, implementation, and problem-solving tasks on global computer systems and, together with the physical and logical components that integrate these systems. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer (VMware/Windows) will provide SME L2/L3 operational support to our Infra and responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, administration, patching, day-to-day operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related Data Center infrastructure. Ensure VMware environment is patched up to date and compliance with IT security standard. Manage SCA (Security Compliance Analytics) and publish compliance report.

Working within a framework of established procedures and adheres to appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines, contributing to the creation/updating of these frameworks where appropriate. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer may be asked to undertake or coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing, coordinating transition into live environment.

Main responsibilities:

• Plans, installs, solves problems, and maintains VMware vCenter, ESXi, SRM, vROPs, and vSphere infrastructure and associated systems.
• Plans, installs, solves problems and supports physical and virtual servers for the purpose of ensuring reliability of systems and services across a global estate.
• Analyses, identifies and corrects technology issues, resolving operational issues and restoring services.
• Documents procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems, software and hardware; develops and reviews documentation.
• Acts as a liaison to vendors and technical-support to resolve complex problems.
• Coordinates and implements corrective measures that may involve site visits, telephone assistance or remote management.
• Work on Infrastructure related projects
• Advises and assists in the development of policies and procedures
• Monitors and maintains software licensing, documents, and records for the purpose of ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Contributes to plans, implements and maintains backup and DR procedures to ensure rapid recovery for mission-critical systems, and services.
• Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned.
• Provide input to the Technology Roadmap when requested – assisting with research and design of new technology solutions where applicable.
• Proactively involve P1/P2 incident calls. 

• Uphold for SLA compliance, incident management & Root cause analysis

Skills and experience:

MUST HAVE Advanced experience and knowledge of:

• SME experience in VMWare ESXi including vCenter and VSAN
• Experience with SDDC components (vSphere Replication, vROps, SRM)
• Cloud Technologies and solutions including Azure, AWS and VMC
• Windows Server Infrastructure and Services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Office 365
• Powershell, Python
• SAN Storage (including Fibre Channel/iSCSI)
• Enterprise Intel x86 based hardware (e.g. Cisco UCS, Dell Servers)
• Strong problem-solving skills across the different Infrastructure layers 

Knowledge of the core hardware and software components that comprise large global systems and networks with expertise in some of the following areas:

• Backup technologies, (Commvault strongly desirable)
• LAN/WAN, network and systems hardware and software
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft PowerBI
• DNS platform
• Monitoring and system management tools
• Virtual Desktop Technologies
• Current and emerging operating systems, network environments and protocols
• Data security, including Server Hardening
• Project design and project tracking
• Understanding of processes and methodology

Qualifications
· 10+ years experience in VMware, Cloud and Windows
· Bachelor's Degree preferred
