Job Summary: The Managed Services Team is responsible for the deployment and management of Equinix Managed products and services. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate with peer support teams and partners to develop solutions, provide advanced technical support, work in a creative, fast-paced agile environment, and show a keen interest in solving highly complex technical problems.
Provide design, deployment, and day-to-day administration of vCloud Director environments.
Provide support for design, deployment, and day-to-day administration of NSX-T network virtualized environments.
Manage infrastructure and provide day-to-day administration of Log Insight and Network Insight services.
Work with Project Managers to identify, track and deliver project related tasks as they relate to critical strategic projects.
Take ownership of and lead network solution design discussions with Managed Services and internal customers.
Provide day-to-day operational and emergency support of physical compute and storage assets for various Managed customers, including standalone servers, blade chassis and blade servers and storage arrays.
Provide day-to-day operational and emergency support of VMware virtualization platform for various Managed customers, including vCenter, ESXi, VROPs, VRO, etc.
Provide day-to-day operational and emergency support of backup services (NetBackup, CommVault).
Analyze service KPIs to identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability, or availability of a product or service through automation or other technical innovations.
Manage & deploy cloud services across 3rd party cloud services (I.e., AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
Participate in post-mortem and root cause analysis for customer Severity 1 outages.
Participate in evaluation of new requirements, the creation of technical designs, the definition standards and guidelines, definition of best practices and service metrics as directed
Responsible for incident, problem, change and configuration management processes as they relate to all facets of Managed and internal infrastructure components, including capacity management.
Develop and execute implementation plans associated with onboarding new Managed Services customers.
Ensure operational stability by maintaining all infrastructure components (firmware and software updates) on a regularly scheduled basis.
Develop tools (scripts/programs) for automating routine activities.
Identify and solve for process inefficiencies.
Provide solution and system architecture support for new products and services.
Availability for on-call and off-hours support activities.
Create and maintain customer and internal technical documentation.
Research industry trends, best practices and new technologies that will provide operational insights to internal teams.
5+ years’ experience, designing, deploying administering and supporting vCloud Director versions 9.7 and up.
2+ years’ experience with VMware NSX-T network virtualization technology.
7+ years’ experience deploying, configuring, supporting, and optimizing physical standalone and blade servers (Cisco UCS, HP Proliant, Dell PowerEdge).
7+ years of experience architecting and designing highly complex Infrastructure solutions (E.g. physical storage and compute architectures, disaster recovery options, hypervisor selection, etc.).
7+ years’ experience deploying, configuring supporting and optimizing hypervisor-based environments using VMware’s vCenter, ESXi, vROPs and vRO.
7+ years hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and supporting tier 1 storage arrays (NetApp, EMC, 3PAR, etc.).
7+ years hand-on experience deploying configuring, supporting data back-up platforms (NetBackup, Commvault).
Experience working in an agile environment.
Industry standard certifications would be an asset.
