Equinix Metal, a leading bare metal cloud provider, is looking for an Sr. Engineering Manager for the API and Identity team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the engineering and operation of our Cloud API and Identity Management systems. This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.
What you’ll be doing:
Experienced engineering leader for a team of engineers that own, operate and develop our Bare Metal cloud API and Identity systems.
Partner with Developer Relations team and treat API as a product to help build integrations on top of API.
Growth and hiring will be a requisite part of this work along with mentoring, coaching and retaining top talent.
Help drive design and improve our system architecture with focus on performance, reliability, data consistency, scaling.
Maintain a strong development culture focused on data-driven and value delivery and managing team’s development process, including documentation, JIRA workflow, sprint and roadmap planning
Cultivate a collaborative culture with other partners across the larger Engineering organization, and other teams like UI, UX, Platform, Network and Hardware teams.
What we’ll expect from you:
A demonstrated track record with 3+ years of management experience for building and leading distributed software development teams of 8+ people.
A good concept of scale and a desire to help build and run highly reliable and performant distributed services
A background of working for a SaaS, PaaS, IaaS or cloud-based companies passionate about agile/lean/continuous development and delivery.
Hands-on development and architecture experience (within the last 2 years preferred)
Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, operational readiness and cloud infrastructure provider use cases.
Experience with implementation of High availability, Disaster Recovery and key metrics driving the SLA for platform and services.
Shown ability to think strategically and execute with a sense of urgency, delivering services to meet customer demands on a timely basis
Ability to recruit top technical talent for the team
Excellent interpersonal skills internally and externally
Experience with implementing large scale AuthN and AuthZ systems is a plus.
