The Senior Director, Process Architecture leads a team who drives our process transformation efforts and embeds best practices in process design and implementation throughout the organization. In partnership with business leads, IT (if applicable), and program managers, the process architecture lead and their team develop, pilots, and implements efficient, streamlined end-to-end processes that balances customer centricity with operation efficiency, and advises enterprise-wide teams creating new processes by employing lean, design thinking and six sigma approaches. This role reports into the transformation office and is instrumental in improving Equinix process excellence, process management and driving lasting process and cultural changes to improve ROI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Transformational Process Improvements: Partner with business leads, IT (if applicable), and project managers to design, pilot, and implement fit-for-purpose future state processes based on business objectives
  • Establish Business Objectives: Define problem statement, KPIs, objectives, scope, approach and align team
  • Analyze Current State: Understand issues/ gaps with current processes and associated root causes
  • Develop the Future State: Determine options with pros/cons to achieve objectives and propose future state options to leaders, which will require early iterations with IT and other stakeholders to develop the best option that balances effort, impact, and speed
  • Create Roadmap and Roll-Out Plan: Work with project team to create an implementation approach and support roll-out; secure buy-in from stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Launch pilot and iterate as needed based on results
  • Fully implement the process: Support the early phase of full implementation and change management associated with the new process
  • Define a Vision for Process Improvement at Equinix: Define objectives, KPIs, roles and a change plan aligned to our strategy and lead by example
  • Implement Empowered Process Governance: Lead a small group of cross-functional stakeholders responsible for making decisions about our global processes and drive process transformation and champion process transformation in their teams

Qualifications

  • 15+ years leading global, cross-functional end-to-end process redesign, transformation and improvement
  • Proven success with understanding complex business problems and driving understanding, consensus, and resolution
  • Fluency in translating business objective and insights into streamlined process design, with sufficient IT/system knowledge to help guide IT with prioritization
  • Demonstrated ability to translate lean, six sigma and process improvement tools and methodologies into simple, practical action
  • Experience leading a team of process improvement experts and coaching leaders with change management on new processes
  • Success at leading cross functional workshops and kaizen events
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership decision making, leading SteerCo reviews and facilitating problem solving
  • Demonstrable expertise in design thinking and lean six sigma
  • Broad, well-rounded, understanding of Equinix’s strategy, customers, employees and processes
  • Lean Six Sigma black belt certification or equivalent experience
