Job Summary: Data Centers are considered Critical Facilities. This means that we support hospitals, laboratories, public safety centers. Simply put - We cannot go dark. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for solves problems and installs sophisticated circuits and performs custom installations.
Responsibilities
Coordinates incoming requests and work assignments to support customer orders; works on sophisticated customer requests.
Initiates project meetings, including collecting and distributing notes and action items.
Understands the approval process and resolves timelines for orders that have been expedited or requires negotiation.
Resolves when to approve custom orders and amends for labor hours and material costs, if required.
Provides weekly queue management activity reports and metrics to supervisor.
Supports internal/external audits on request by management and reporting requests.
Coordinates reviews and/or approvals of work order permits.
Acts as a highly skilled subject matter support authority for customer installations within the team, including: rack and stack, cages, cable distribution trays, cabinets, cable management/support systems, and cross connects.
Identifies cost savings opportunities and makes recommendations to leaders.
Proposes and implements use of sophisticated technology, for testing equipment (fusion splicing, etc.).
Utilizes advanced troubleshooting ability to lead fault resolution.
Supervises stock levels and proactively addresses needs for reordering of materials in partnership with accurate teams.
Attends internal coordination, progress meetings or conference calls; and, provides updates as needed to customers.
May provide coaching and mentorship to more junior team members.
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
5+ years of equivalent work experience required.
Experience working in a critical facility.
You are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and are agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, et.) with or without an accommodation.
24/7 Operation - Your flexibility to work any assigned shift, off-schedule, fill in for workmate, respond to emergencies, etc.
