Job Summary: The Proposal Manager takes ownership of the end-to-end bid process and works alongside key stakeholders. They are responsible for risk tracking and management throughout the bid process and contributing to the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Operations, Equinix Government Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Bid Management Process:

    • Acts as subject-matter-expert in the end-to-end bid process

    • Manages and orchestrates complex, multiregional RFx

    • Manages and owns the compliance matrix as part of the bid process, ensuring bid procedures are adhered to

    • Applies risk tracking and management throughout the bid process

    • Designs and develops templates, documents, policies, and procedures to define and support the bid process

    • Arranges, determines, and consults on bid process meetings, including kick off, midpoint, approval meetings

    • Determines timelines and responsibilities for bid activities

    • Identifies and implements process improvements that reduce resource requirements for bid development

    • Responsive for close liaison with internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure all information is accurate and communicates/manages where gaps exist to the pursuit team

    • Reports on bid activity, identifying areas of strength and weakness and sharing this information to drive continuous improvement of the bid

    • Through bid best practices and methodologies, prepares high quality bespoke bid documents for multi-product and service and / or large complex bids to ensure consistency across the bid in style, format, and language to align to overall bid strategy through value propositions and win themes

    • Translates technical, strategic, and business issues and develops prospect value propositions

    • Contributes to the written document when required – for both the bid document and presentation

    • Reviews, drafts, and effects improvement through quality control and procedures

    • Drives and chairs the final reviews in accordance with Winning Color Team Review

    • Facilitates and drives stakeholders with prospect follow up bid presentation

  • Process Improvement:

    • Develops RFxs content in collaboration with other Business Units

    • Proactively identifies areas of improvement of the Bid Management process and toolset

    • Gives guidance with business and marketing development

    • Produces post bid reviews, handover documents, and win/loss reviews

  • Sales Enablement:

    • Delivers guidance and training to Sales Representatives on bid and proposal management methodologies to enhance the selling capabilities of the salesforce

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience managing RFx’s as a Primary and Subcontractor

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • US Government active clearance preferred 

  • Association for Proposal Management Professional (APMP) certification preferred
