Job Summary:
Equinix Metal’s Product Management is looking for a passionate individual to join the team to help deliver the world’s best customer experience for automated bare metal compute infrastructure and the interconnected services that surround it. This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.
With a fast-evolving platform capability within Equinix (the world’s largest leading colocation and interconnection provider), Equinix Metal works closely with the leading digital businesses in the world. We are currently looking for an individual who is deeply interested in product management to take on programs/projects that support the product management team to deliver digital infrastructure products/services to the world’s leading digital companies.
Equinix Metal’s Product team for Fleet Management and Core Services insures customers have access to the latest and greatest digital infrastructure (bare metal servers and network) in the locations where they do business, with the core services (server provisioning, networking, billing/metering) they need. As a member of this team you will work with product managers, engineers and operations personnel to insure the timely delivery of projects that help deliver these services to our customers.
This is not your typical “product or program manager” role. It goes well beyond managing checklists and process templates, recording action items, and scheduling meetings. While you’ll be expected to be the most “process oriented” member of the product team, helping team members to stay organized by ensuring that the team follows the right processes and documenting the team’s progress in a transparent way, you’ll also be expected to become an SME for the product itself, solve problems for the team, and directly own specific deliverables. You’ll be an integrated, critical member of the product team, not just an assigned observer, and this job will provide outstanding exposure to the product manager role, and in many cases may have the opportunity to engage in some of the same activities and job responsibilities expected of a product manager.
Own and drive programs and other special projects for the Core Services product teams, inclusive of our ongoing bare metal fleet management and growth initiatives, our core provisioning and operator portal “products”, and our networking capability and product portfolio.
This role reports to the Director, Product Management, Equinix Metal Core Services.
Responsibilities
Work with product managers to understand and set priorities for new product introductions to our fleet of servers and new core services or enhancements
Ensure that the engineering team works towards executing on these goals
Identify bottlenecks and ensure strong communication between engineering, product management and operations groups
Help balance long term goals with short term priorities
Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Qualifications
3+ years of experience managing projects & programs in a technology company
Bachelor's degree
Expert in Excel & PowerPoint
Experienced with Jira & Confluence
Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
Experience collaborating with teams globally
