Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company, operating 245+ data centers across the globe and providing interconnections to all the key clouds and networks. Businesses need one place to simplify and bring together fragmented, complex infrastructure that spans private and public cloud environments. With Equinix Metal, customers can rapidly deploy automated single-tenant infrastructure and interact with 2,000+ networks and 3,000 cloud and service providers. Our global platform allows customers to place infrastructure wherever they need it and connect it to everything they need to succeed.
At Equinix, we help the world’s digital leaders scale with agility, speed the launch of digital services, deliver world-class experiences, and transform people’s lives. Our culture is based on collaboration and the growth and development of our teams.
We hire hardworking people who thrive on solving challenging problems and give them opportunities to hone new skills, and try new approaches, as we grow our product portfolio with new software and network architecture solutions. We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.
As Product Manager, OEM Platform & Storage Solutions, you will serve a critical role as an individual contributor, a key domain expert and thought leader as you work to advance two critical components of our Strategic Solutions product practice. First, you will own the extremely critical and potentially trajectory changing strategy and product relationships for our most important OEM partners – Dell, Supermicro, Pure Storage, HPE, Netapp, NVIDIA, IBM, and more. Your goal will be to ensure that we build and run the products, features, programs, and process that will make Equinix Metal and our broader digital services portfolio the “platform of choice” for these essential components of the digital infrastructure ecosystem. Second, you will be responsible for the related and equally important product roadmap and execution plan associated with “how we do Storage” for Equinix Metal customers, identifying, researching, and defining the partnerships (both hardware and software) and the product innovations that will make Equinix the obvious choice for customer’s growing data assets.
Importantly for this role, you're not just a product person, you're business-minded. You understand the nuances of OEM GTM motions, including channel and resellers, VARs, and System Integrators. You're passionate about discovering how to adopt and adjust these channels for a cloud-first, digital native world so that we all win together.
The ideal candidate for this position is also going to be a closet nerd for modern supply chain dynamics, understanding costs and what drives end to end supply chain efficiency, as well as having a strong sense for how global logistics works, how it can be improved (to deliver customer value), and how it impacts sustainability. You care about the circularity of the technology that we rely on to power our modern lives and you aim to make a difference by bringing a sustainable mindset to your focus area at Equinix.
Lastly, you are the type of person who wants to have impact and are ready and willing to roll up your sleeves to make things happen. The opportunity before us is tremendous, and this role demands a creative, passionate, knowledgeable, “get things done and make a difference” philosophy towards work.
This role reports to the Director of Product Management – Strategic Solutions at Equinix Metal.
Know the Digital Infrastructure Ecosystem: you will be a subject matter expert when it comes to all things happening in the digital infrastructure industry, specifically the investments, innovations, and priorities of our large OEM partners.
Know and help drive / harness innovation in the Storage Landscape: Understand the developments in software and hardware driven storage landscape, develop relationships with the key product owners with the key players, and help align and develop storage solutions / experiences that will delight customers and help them take advantage of Equinix’s powerful combination of reach, network, and neutrality.
Facilitate solution collaboration across product teams: In some cases, the features and capabilities that will be needed to ensure the best possible experience for our OEM and Storage partners or for the customers consuming those solutions will require other product teams (both inside and outside of Edge Infrastructure) to deliver various enhancements and improvements. You will be expected to work with those teams, helping them to understand the need and the value of the necessary improvements.
Work seamlessly with our alliances and channel teams: Because a big part of the role involves working with and delivering product that supports OEMs and Storage partners and enables them to deliver their solutions to our end user customers more seamlessly, you’ll be expected to work closely with the alliances and channel teams who are heavily engaged with those same entities.
Ensure that measurable outcomes lead the way; own your impact on our north star metrics: you will play a foundational role in driving our north star metrics. By breaking those down into actionable KPIs, you will be able to prioritize opportunities after assessing corresponding impact and effort.

Like most good product management roles, this is an opportunity well suited for those with entrepreneurial inclinations and requires strategic, analytical, and creative skills. It demands to be filled by a person who has a passion for the role that digital infrastructure plays in all our lives, and who never tires of learning and growing their knowledge of the space or exploring how it might be improved. Additionally, given the ways in which this role will touch and potentially impact many other teams and groups at Equinix, the role will require great comfort navigating those relationships, communicating effectively, and bringing others into alignment through the combination of passion, creativity, and solid research and data. You have fully embraced the concepts of empowered product teams and the product manager’s role within that team structure, sourcing ideas and solutions to challenging problems from a myriad of different sources, and then efficiently exploring which of those ideas should be pursued alongside key members of your product team.

Believe in and actively seek empowerment as a product manager and as the de facto leader of a product team.
Be organized, disciplined, and efficient in your work, leveraging your given tools to keep yourself, your team, your leadership, and your stakeholders engaged and apprised of progress and results.
An experienced project manager, able to organize and direct work streams, enabling others around you to thrive.
Understand the criticality of de-risking investments the company chooses to make before significant investments are made, along with the tools and mechanisms to do so.
Driven to personally make a big impact, with a strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Ability to operate and communicate on aspects related to their role with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization – from the head of our business unit to the most junior program manager (this includes the ability to build compelling slides, write clear and compelling prose, and build neat and convincing analyses and spreadsheets).
