Position Summary: The Equinix Operations Center (EOC) is a 24/7/365 environment encompassing two monitoring functions; Security and Essential Systems. The EOC is also responsible for IBX Incident Management communications. The EOC Specialist will not only display the required skills, but also the willingness to work any of the scheduled shifts. EOC Specialist responsibilities include; essential systems monitoring, CCTV and Access Control monitoring, updating and maintaining customer records, providing input to standardized processes, and assisting in compiling investigative information. The EOC Specialist will also be responsible for processing and responding to all transactions within the EOC including customer calls, site calls, incident management calls, and emails.
Job Responsibilities:
Process inbound requests from customers, carriers, and our sites
Process inbound alerts from essential systems and network elements
Dispatch service requests, trouble and alarm tickets
Process site maintenance and outage notifications
Escalate trouble cases and emergencies as needed to lead and/or management personnel
Provide timely response to all access and CCTV related alarms
Ensure timely and accurate input of access information into access control system.
Understand and utilize company resources such as; databases, software applications, and organizational structure
Understand Equinix’s processes, policies, service offerings and products.
Required Skills:
Bi-Lingual (Spanish Required)
Shift work schedule (3 shifts options)
Aptitude, Attitude, and Potential Required
Minimum of 1 year in critical facilities or similar work related to systems support or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 4 year of security industry service or equivalent work experience (military experience) preferred
Experienced with AC UPS and DC power systems (preferred)
Experienced with precision HVAC systems (preferred)
Experienced with managing maintenance windows (preferred)
Experienced with alarm monitoring systems (preferred)
Familiar with CCTV and Access System software and hardware (preferred)
Excellent customer service skills (preferred)
Ability to make clear timely decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Professional phone etiquette and demeanor
(Candidates will need to be eligible to start their Skillbridge as early as October but NLT Early November and the period cannot be less than 120 days)
