Job Summary: Manages the execution of high complexity data center expansion and migrations projects using pre-defined methodologies and tools for Equinix Metal.
Own operational planning of data center expansion and migrations.
Manage the data center expansion with a deep understanding of risk mitigation and chain of custody for physical servers.
Structure the overall program including schedule, resources, vendor management, communication, stakeholder management and budgets.
Provide direction based on prior experience moving data centers and moving applications to hosted solutions providers.
Ensure that proper procedures and governance reviews are followed.
Manage the overall project schedule and proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with interdependencies.
Gather documentation and build and develop a delivery plan for all the workstreams.
Continually improve the process and framework and update our migration solution.
Minimum of five years of Data Center Migration (assessments, migrations, consolidations, virtualization projects, etc.).
PMP certification is desired.
Experience with Jira is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Must have prior experience managing one or more complex, enterprise-level data center migration or consolidation project.
A holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.
A foundational understanding of public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, Google).
Familiar with application and workload dependencies, architecture, and service level requirements.
Understands application and workload move dispositions (cloud, P2V, V2V, P2P, Lift and Shift) and the methodologies around each.
Applied understanding of data center functions, technologies, and interdependencies.
Understanding of Asset management (experience with tools/process).
Excellent communication, organization and writing skills are required

In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085) the salary range for Colorado for this role is $80,000 – $108,000 per year with 15% bonus target.
