Job Summary: Supervision of Data Center Customer Operations professionals in a 24/7/365 critical facility environment. What you will be doing:
Lead, mentor and guide a team of skilled Critical Facility customer-facing professionals
Reads customer Data Center installation plans (Visio Drawings / Spreadsheets) and implements installation accordingly
Troubleshoots switched / multiplexed / media converted circuits and assists team members with technical escalations
Work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues
Installs/tests/modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures accurate cable management of coax, fiber, twisted pair copper, and intra-building cross connects
Installs and tests sophisticated cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
Designs and leads cage / infrastructure modification projects
Systems Support including troubleshooting and fault resolution by investigating the issue, identifying the cause and implementing the required fix
Understands customer cabling requirements, performs site surveys, provides cost estimates to sales and installation of new cables.
Performs testing of cables before handing to customer
Manages, briefs, and instructs vendors for installation, testing, and labeling
Performs preventive maintenance to IBX equipment to prevent faults from occurring
Handles multiple projects and assists in designating work to the team
Requirements
Experience handling and mentoring skilled professionals in a 24/7/365 critical facility environment
Extensive knowledge in network and equipment platforms, systems, and circuits including fiber terminations
A natural curiosity and strong troubleshooting skills
Experience handling vendor relationships
Able to meet deadlines and respond under pressure
Experience working in a critical facility where failure is not an option.
Customer-facing experience including handling escalations
Previous experience in a Data Center or Critical facility environment is strongly preferred
Passion for quality and customer satisfaction
Ability to work nights and flexibility as needed
