Market Analytics & Insights Team Description: The Market Analytics & Insights team (MAI) plays an important and influential role in the strategic direction and ongoing management of Equinix. The team identifies high-value opportunities, addresses critical challenges, and transforms mission-critical operations. The key insights developed are delivered to key decision makers in timely presentations, analytical tools and detailed analyses about our markets, customers and competitors. In particular, the MAI team is responsible for performing market and competitive intelligence, identifying key market trends, quantifying addressable market opportunities, analyzing business/customer performance and formulating compelling stories with data to drive changes in behavior and gain buy-in. This is a highly visible team that regularly speaks with, and presents to, the company’s senior management team.
Manager, Market Analytics: The Manager of Market Analytics is a specialized role who should be able to find insights in large datasets, synthesize and communicate the results in compelling presentations and written works. Having the ability to organize complex topics into easily digestible story lines is crucial. Overall, we are looking for someone with strong analytical horsepower, who is looking for progressive responsibility on a dynamic team and is proactive in pushing projects forward. The ability to manage stakeholder relationships with other key department and team leads will also be an important skill.
Build and develop enablement tools (interactive dashboards, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.) for key internal stakeholders; you will become the lead on many globally impactful analyses
Track industry trends, competitor actions / strategies and key competitor performance metrics
Provide rapid response and insightful strategic competitive analyses based on changing market dynamics and competitor strategies
Anticipate future demands from our stakeholders and design / implement solutions to meet these needs
Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of available resources, and effectively collaborate with partners
Author in-depth analyses to be distributed internally to executive management on industry trends and competitor actions
Understand Equinix’s current and emerging competitive threats and how to address them, from sales, marketing, and product perspective
Stay abreast of data insights coming from other teams at Equinix - connecting the dots across disparate analyses and synthesizing them into a coherent story
Ensure KPI's are in place for the team which are appropriate for the needs of the function and its stakeholders
Broaden the team’s impact to our direct sales and partner teams in the field
Strong communicator with the ability to distill analysis, crystalize insights and make recommendations based on analysis in both visual and oral forms
Prior experience at a large international technology or networking company
Strong knowledge of colocation, interconnection and bare metal services
Significant experience presenting to technical and business audiences
Motivated to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and maintain strong team relationships, including with external partners
Portfolio of written reports demonstrating technical writing skills and analytical abilities
Passion for learning - self-motivated and curious, asking clarifying questions to research issues, business needs, and underlying processes
Proactive and positive team member who takes the initiative on next steps
Detail oriented with ability to independently validate / triangulate data and analysis
Solid PowerPoint and Excel skills are integral, with a strong preference for those with Tableau experience
Strong preference for a person with knowledge of the data center industry
7+ years of experience monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
Bachelor required, Masters preferred, from a highly ranked school
