Job Summary
We are looking for Manager for the engineering team that will be responsible for a cross-product platform providing company-wide capabilities in the area of Identity and Access Management. By using modern technology stack, cloud, microservices architecture, API-first approach, micro-frontend user interface and focusing on the product quality and delightful user experience, the engineering team will be responsible for building a highly scalable, globally distributed software product. This is an opportunity to lead a world-class product engineering team that’s paving the path for new ways for enterprises to consume ever increasing cloud services.
Responsibilities
Understand customer requirements and work backwards to craft solutions that delight customers
Manage a team of system software engineers working on scalable, performant platform services
Provide team guidance, regular feedback, education, coaching and mentoring
Create career development plans, manage performance, performance reviews
Work side by side with product management and peer leaders understand workflows, prioritize solutions, create and improve platform services
Drive the platform team's roadmap and extend systems as needed
Analyze and own trade-offs, collaborating with counterparts in other domains and teams to drive decisions performance, schedule, and cost
Provide technical leadership to drive all phases of software development, from an initial proof-of-concept, early definition phase, and on through specification, architecture and production.
Drive the development, debugging, and optimization of systems ranging from one-off prototypes to large, complex systems.
Participate in design reviews and code reviews for the platform team
Qualifications
BS in computer science or equivalent with 9+ years of experience in a software/cloud related function
7+ years of experience as a senior developer
Experience working on SaaS/PaaS products with distributed, horizontally scaling architectures
Experience managing a team of 5 – 10 engineers
Exposure to on-prem and cloud-based deployments
Experience working in the agile process
Experience with capacity planning and cost models for SaaS/PaaS applications
Excellent project management skills and the use of common project management tools
Ability to clearly document and communicate with engineering and business stakeholders

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $172,000 to $308,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
