Job Summary: The One Legal team at Equinix is seeking a Legal Senior Specialist, Corporate. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paralegal/compliance specialist on our Ethics & Compliance team. This role reports to the VP, Legal and Chief Compliance Officer and can be based in Redwood City, California (our headquarters) or Ashburn/DC.
Responsibilities
Work closely with internal Ethics & Compliance counsel, outside counsel and consultants to manage compliance throughout the organization, ensuring that the company and its employees comply with federal and international requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures. Areas of focus include Code of Business Conduct, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions compliance, conflicts of interest and sustainability
Support Ethics & Compliance team to identify, prioritize and help implement practical solutions to improve efficiencies
Assist with scaling of internal global compliance standards, including supporting internal compliance initiatives, conducting research and analysis, and drafting internal global compliance policies and processes
Maintain organization and documentation of compliance records
Support cross-functional third-party risk mitigation activities including support of ongoing risk assessments, analysis, and due diligence
Special project work as may be assigned
Qualifications
BA/BS degree
Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution is a plus
5+ years of experience as a paralegal or compliance specialist in a law firm or in-house, with responsibility for a broad range of projects
Experience working in a culturally diverse and global company
Experience related to technology companies is a plus
Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
Demonstrated high level of integrity, thoroughness, flexibility, initiative and teamwork
Willingness to learn and continuously develop professional knowledge in compliance subject matter
